No such thing as winning in spite of a manager. When a team stops listening to a manager you end up like Chelsea under Mourinho or Rags under Moyes, Liverpool with Rodgers.
And all of those teams won games, right?
Other than Europe, I've seen nothing to say these players have improved under Pellegrini's tutelage with the exception of the first year where they clearly enjoyed the freedom he allowed them, unlike the dogged tactical approach of Roberto. Since that season these guys do what they want and perform when they feel like it.
