Well done boss

No such thing as winning in spite of a manager. When a team stops listening to a manager you end up like Chelsea under Mourinho or Rags under Moyes, Liverpool with Rodgers.

And all of those teams won games, right?

Other than Europe, I've seen nothing to say these players have improved under Pellegrini's tutelage with the exception of the first year where they clearly enjoyed the freedom he allowed them, unlike the dogged tactical approach of Roberto. Since that season these guys do what they want and perform when they feel like it.

Its become one of the sound bites on the forum of late unfortunately.

His time is rightly up but the last 3 years, success and failure, he has played an integral part its that simple.

Since then? They did it to Mancini too. That's sort of the point which is lost on a lot of people. The common denominator is a core of players who pick and choose when to turn it on. They've done it under two managers now and there's a good reason why hopefully they will be fucked off out the door along with Pellegrini next month.

Kolarov's performance yesterday exemplified everything that has been wrong with this squad since it was put together.

Siding with the players over Mancini was only ever going to end one way, and that is where we are now. I would love some of these players to try this shit with Pep. As Pep has been the holy grail they are going to have to back him, hence why I think there will be more of a turnover of players than people are expecting. One of the barriers to this may be high wages but it has to be done.

And yet he still gets picked, I wonder who picks the side?

The club didn't "side with the players" though. That's a myth. Mancini wasn't sacked because the players didn't like him. He was sacked because the board of directors didn't like him. The REAL mistakes have been made in recruitment since Pellegrini came in. The criminal neglect of our centre midfield and full back positions isn't good enough.

Pep will absolutely destroy the complacency in the squad. But before that. He'll be shipping out all the dross we've accumulated over the last few years.

So, the natural conclusion to that is the board have to take a lot of the blame.

I think it's completely normal for poor results to lead to upset and there's not better place than a forum to come vent your spleen. But I'm not convinced that these usernames who are literally never seen during periods of happiness and yet are all over this thread like a rash when things go wrong are Blues. If they are they should seek help.

Yesterday was awful. Abject. Atrocious. A disgrace. But it's baffling why it's the manager who's getting it in the neck. He picked a shadow side with one eye on Madrid, which is whether we like it or not, the bigger game. What happened is that one or two players decided that they just didn't want to play. It's them who should be getting it in the neck. The manager is off in a few weeks and everything which wants to be said about him has already been said. Especially the negative stuff which lets face it has been on repeat since he was appointed.

Anyway personally as down as I was about yesterday, I only needed to read this thread to feel better. I'd rather keep a sense of perspective than end up sounding like an ignorant angry empty vessel.

Absolutely. There's enough 'blame' for everyone. But it's not the disaster people are making out in terms of what happens next or even this season (yet). We've hugely underachieved in the league, but make no bones about it, get past Madrid on Wednesday and it will be a moment to rival anything that's happened since the takeover.

If we don't it'll just have been a piss poor season though. Fine margins when you're a big club.

The fine margin really is the top 4. I'm all for a drab game of pass the ball between each other when we play arsenal. I just hope Wenger doesn't get any ideas.

Agreed but the replacements need to be of the ilk of KVD in their respective positions perhaps more important in some cases and a great deal of that will be out of Peps control.

Pep is still young enough and hungry enough to make his mark on the premiership in the three years we will have him but he needs the right type of player as well to execute the surge this club can get to under his guidance to play football at a level never seen before in the premiership which is where we want to go.

Dominating oppositions and good ones at that while keeping our goal hardly worth having a keeper for much of the 90 minutes.

You would hope that Sterling , KVD , Mamgala Oti and Roberts were bought with Pep in mind and if he can get them to the level they should be at for the above to occur week in week out then the DOF deserves a leave pass.

It really isn't though, it's the European Cup. There's a serious lack of perspective around about just what that means to the owners IMO. The premier league win didn't really change the perception of the club around the world even if it did in England. Only winning the European Cup will put us on the platform that the owners want. They will care only about the game Wednesday. Disgrace ourselves in that and then there'll be recriminations in Abu Dhabi. But if we get through that match and are in the final, the owners will deal with a season outside the Champions League IF that happens (it's still a big IF - even after yesterday's defeat).

Beating Arsenal at home will be a good sending off for MP as well as that should ensure Chumps League next season.

If anything wins for Manure and West Ham on Saturday are what the side needs.

Yesterday was poor because a number of that starting line up played there last game at the club and with the selection they knew it if not before and it was bad way for them go out but they only have themselves to blame.

Players standing motion less as time and again they fail to track runners and leave wholes larger than LL 's gash leaving three one on ones just to start with tells you that they didn't want to be there and had no faith in the managers game plan.

Nothing to do with the manager's game plan. Absolutely nothing. Which is why I take such umbrage at the gash which has been written since last night. Cod tacticians talking shit about shape and formations don't impress me in the slightest when it was clear that there were players on the pitch yesterday who simply don't care about playing for City anymore. It only takes ONE fraud to play at 50% and it's natural that this will decimate the rest of the team. The premier league isn't a league where you can carry passengers, especially not away from home against at top 6/8 side.

The worrying aspect to that is the problem where upon Pep may have had some influence on some of the players that have been bought. If rumours are to be believed, Pep was always coming here after Munich. If that is the case then surely Txiki would have sought some advice from Pep in regards to certain players?

Hopefully it is a case of the players actually being alright and it is actually Manuel who is failing to get them operating in the right manner.

Obviously I can only speculate. But I would guess that Pellegrini and Txiki chose all the players bought up until last summer. And I suspect last summer's players were a combination of Pep's, Txiki's, and Marwood's.
