When was the Pep decision made?

It's irrelevant, he is our manager now and that is all that matters.

Time to look forwards not backwards.

We have been in reverse for two seasons too long

Whether its irrelevant or not is well irrelevant. It is certainly worth a discussion, exactly what a forum is for.

You never know.
Maybe pellers will one day start chirping and say that he didn't want some of the players signed and it was done over his head.

It has been the No 1 thing on Tixi’s to do list since he rocked up. So when did it start – probably the day after Tixi got here, when was it signed probably some time around Christmas after Pep confirmed he was leaving Bayern.

Was Pep consulted on players – I find that highly unlikely as in business you have to account for all possibilities and I think it was a very real possibility that we wouldn’t get Pep, the recent January window being the only exception.

Were players told that Pep was lined up – Probably yes. Tixi would have backed himself and his line to the likes of KDB would have been ‘we are getting Pep + a whole load of the best players in the world and we want you to be part of it’.

I can't believe for a minute that he wasn't consulted or at the very least, informed.
If you're being relentlessly pursued for a job by two of your closest friends, there must be a level of communication. Even if it was a casual phone call and a players name was dropped into the conversation.

Some still think that wasting £25m plus on Bony actually matters the club.

We needed a striker different to what we already had. He seemed good enough. Strong powerful etc but when he arrived it went downhill.

Was he not really ill last summer. That looks to have fucked him up big time.

Personally I think the conversation happened in the summer when he formally agreed to join and he had a hand in the De Bruyne and Sterling signings. I think all the others were a mixture of Pellers and Txiki and based on what we needed.

Did the club not say when they announced he was coming that it was the result of a resumption of talks from 3 years ago?

Pep agreed just before MP took over his brother moved office to Manc in 2012/13.

Yes they did. Pep mentions it in Pep Confidential about being approached by an English club. Not got the copy in front of me but March/April 2012 springs to mind. Happy to be proven wrong if anyone has a copy of the book infront of then.
