That's half of his job. The other half is to not put it straight back in danger. If you can't see his flaws then that's not my problem.
I'd imagine keeping the ball out of the net is more than 50% of what you'd expect of a goalkeeper. I'd probably plump for it being around 85 to 95%, and then distribution could make up the rest.

Aww diddums. Bet some posters on here were crying when Joe made yet another worldy to yet again win his team a game.

This is a very interesting point. Is it fair to say that in an ever developing game, a modern keeper doesn't only have to be a good shot stopper? I would say yes. So question then is what sort of ratio do we expect them to be? And which other keepers in people opinion represent a better balance?

I'll play. Who could we realistically sign who is better?
I'm not a scout but I would look for qualities such as not kicking the ball into touch at every goal kick, faster distribution, not being consistently beaten by long range shots, the ability to catch instead of punch and being in command of the penalty area.

The only fraud here is you pal... talking absolute shite! The only valid point you have is his distribution at times but he has a great throw on him which opts for more.

Not really, it has been a massive flaw in his game for the last 3 seasons. Might have something to do with the little jump he does before the player takes a shot and thus has less reaction time.
Nah you're talking shit sorry but you are. Once in a bluemoon(no pun) and that's all, no more than any other keeper. Golden gloves mean nothing to you I take it?

He's a decent shot stopper but teams that have the majority of the ball are likely to keep clean sheets. It also helps when you have Vincent Kompany in his prime or a well drilled Mancini defence in front of you.

Surely if he's that bad it shouldn't be hard for you to list a few keepers we could sign who are better than him?

If you hear things said enough you start to believe it yourself! ;)

His punching is poor, he never tried to catch it either which would be fair enough if he could punch it. Great save that denied me £260 the bastard! Overall top shot stopper but other areas which still need a bit of work

I would disagree that he kicks it out at every goalkick - some exaggeration there. Punching the ball is what the vast majority of keepers do now, and it must be something they're coached to do. Faster distribution I think is something Hart could improve on, however maybe he doesn't trust our defenders ability on the ball?

Sergio Picasso Aguero if you knew anything about goal keeping you would know that all goalkeepers do a little jump . It allows them to have their weight on their toes . Which allows them to go one way or the other
