Last week Leicester arrived here in Bangkok, and had a "Victory Parade" attended by "thousands of local fans"
It has now been revealed by the local media, that these "fans" were paid for the privilege of attending.
The fans received 300 baht ( 10GBP) got free t-shirt and flag.
I have lived over here for the best part of 10 years and in that time could count the sight of Leicester fans/shirts on one finger.

I suspected this was the case. The pics for example on the bbc website did not look right..the "fans" did not look like fans,most appeared to be fairly well off folk...rather like those who would be the minority in favour of the ruling military junta.It is fair to say that Thailand,the only country in South east Asia that has never fallen under british rule, has had a chaotic history for decades now, our own former chairman, and his sister, being heavily involved in recent years..
The end of season tour by the fortunate foxes mirrors the one celebrating their escape from relegtion following 8 straight wins on the bounce..
The Guardian reported last May that the tour was " celebrate avoiding relegation from the premier league"

In my opinion,and its only an opinion, the countrys worsening political situation, together with the billonaire owner of the tricky foxes potentially losing out on the record tv deal,coincided with an extraordinary turn of events from April last year when they recorded probably the most impressive winning streak, on the bounce, by any club in the prem that season ...followed by a sacking of their manager, a bout of high altitude training in Austria without a manager, some very ordinary pre season performances v lincoln and rotherham, before tearing up the prem with a completely different manager..
The BBC , on their international news pages,has detailed the volatile nature of Thailands past,with plenty of articles on their history up until..round about..2013/14....nothing at all from them in the last two years, when arguably Thailands situation has detoriated...not one article about the many protests against the ruling military,tho they did mange to catch the clearly stage- managed arrest of two men said to have carried out a brutal attack on three british holiday makers.The majority of the people of Thailand are not happy,and the forced smiles and staged title celebrations together with the mystery over who has brought all the reported shirt sales in Thailand only leads to further questioning...but the film will come first, i,m sure.
