Gundogan

No! He stays as a back-up midfielder or he is sold. No chance Pepe would just put a crocked average midfielder at LB. When he can just go and sign Wendell, Gaya or someone else.
I reckon he'd be better than Kolarov. Frankly, I think he is a Danny Rose clone. And will perform like Danny Rose overtime if given the chance at LB.

Gundogan is absolutely fantastic. It got me incredibly worried when the rags were after him, so to get a fantastic player and get one over on them is a win-win

Leftback. He really doesn't fit in at midfield. Did this calculation months ago, and came to that conclusion.

There must be something strange in the air for me to agree with you, but on this one I do!

Delph has got all of the physical tools to be a great left back. Naturally left footed, perfect size and build, fast, athletic, good in the tackle, decent passer of the ball, decent crosser of the ball.

He's looked dreadful at left wing, but I get the impression he's just been picked there and told to get on with it, no coaching or instruction whatsoever and he's looked like a fish out of water.

If Pep wanted to turn him in to a left back he could spend the time coaching and developing him, moulding him in to a Guardiola left back.

The role Guardiola expect from his full backs is more in line with a midfielder than a defender anyway. It's a very specific role that you don't see other manager's playing.

Even if we bought a specialist left back, they would still have to be coached and alter their game to suit Guardiola's system. No reason Delph couldn't be

Yeah, though I think there will be takers for Bony with the new TV money kicking in. Kolarov will be the hardest to move on.

Who do you think will take him on? Kolarov will be a loan with option to buy for €3M paid over 10 years from some Italian club,oh and City pays the wages, something ridiculous anyway

Don't think he does
I would have to agree, although they new Pep was coming when they signed him so he must fit in somewhere.

The leftback thing is an interesting one, it was strange how much Pellegrini stuck him out on the left wing, it seemed to be a calculated move. I don't think he's anywhere good enough but we'll see.

you know where Delph's really good?

Aston Villa.

Swansea? I'd pay for Kolarov to go so would take that deal.

I'm feeling Ayew has taken his place, I know Ayew can play anywhere across the front but just don't feel they'd bring Bony back. Also have Paloschi Who'll be given a chance surely.

Yeh exactly, ran the midfield against Chelsea for them. He's got loads of potential and plenty of room for improvement.

He had some horror shows for us at left wing mate, but I don't remember him letting us down very often at centre mid. Palace at home he was a revelation.

I say give the lad a chance, there's a player in there.

There is a role for Delph! 17 foreign players spreads pretty thin over a full squad so we need English players to make up the numbers! Delph can do a job on the left of a midfield 3 if we play 433 or possibly at Left Back. Maybe not first choice but we need to make up the numbers somewhere. I am 100% convinced he is a better LB than Kolarov right now, he is also probably a better CB than Demi.

Not to worry, it simply means your understanding is getting better :p This is a good thing :)

Palace at home, oh well, that seals it. Even Rodwell managed a good game once.

Like Rodwell he's a core reason why we lost the league, because we should have bought better and we didn't, and we regretted it all season.

and now it's John Stones turn. You'd think we have Nigel Farage as DoF, not supposedly one of the world's best. Txiki "it's English and breathes so let's sign it, doesn't matter that it can't actually play football properly" Begiristain. Fully expect us to sign a bakewell tart after this.

Absolutely chuffed at this signing. Think we need one more in central midfield, so a worldie like Gundogan costing so little gives us a ton of room.

Feels great getting a top transfer done nice and early at a very reasonable price...Pep factor methinks.
