Neymar

Uncompetitive but yet the La Liga teams still come out on top against the superior Prem teams, somethings obviously wrong.
There's a huge difference between "uncompetitive" and "superior".

La Liga is "superior" because technically they play better football than the PL, but its also "uncompetitive" because in general only 3 teams can win the title, year in, year out. The PL is inferior because of our lack of technical players, bar a few, and the way its based on pace and power, but its far more competitive, because just about anyone, can beat anyone else on any given day.

The difference between top, middle, and bottom of the PL, is far closer than it is in La Liga.

Now whether the likes of Messi, or Neymar could reproduce their La Liga form in the PL is debatable, I think both would find it much more difficult against PL defenders week in week out, and just because La Liga gets the better in European games doesn't mean they would if they had to play in our league every week, obviously we'll never know.

The two leagues are different, neither is better than the other imho.

As for us getting Neymar this summer, put me in the doubtful but hopeful camp, I'll believe it when I see it.

Epl is more entertaining, that's the crux of it. People around the world want entertainment, they are not as interested in technical ability of the players. La liga suffers because of the framework they use that favours 2/3 teams, they do this to maximize their chances of winning European trophies (which they are successful at) but ultimately it's at the detriment of the league as a whole.

I think an issue with la liga was the imbalance of TV money. Barca and RM had their own deals and everyone else got the pitiful scraps. IIRC that's now changed and it's a league deal, rather than individual teams.

La Liga....from Atletico in 3rd to 4th place,a 24 point gap.
Ligue 1 fromPSG to 2nd,a 31 point gap.
Bundesliga from BvB in 2nd to 3rd 18 point gap
Prem 18 points split the top 6.........for me the prem is the most competitive...just my opinion.
Actually it is not your opinion. Its a fact and you just proved it.

It will be easier to win the PL than La Liga by an absolute mile. La Liga is the hardest league to win by a mile.

What are the odds of Barca winning the league each year (only three teams can win so it has to be at least 33%) Because its Barca I would say it is closer to 45%? Would you agree? Is there any team in the PL that enters the season with those kinds of odds?

Yes, that's how I see it, if you're a football purist you'd watch La Liga, but if you want entertainment and/or excitement/unpredictability you'd watch the PL.

That's why I said neither is better, they're just different.

Its been a major part of it, though haven't they changed things ?

There's a reason the PL attracts the sort of money it does and can, and its why we could probably afford to poach Neymar from Barcelona (I doubt we will though).

There's also a connection between the big 2 Spanish teams having to share jncome in their league and talk of a new European league being developed (to claw back lost income and keep them in the lifestyle they have become accustomed to).

You do realise that only 5 teams have won the league in 24 years?

Between 92 and 2012 it was 3.

Oh yes, the premier league is the such an open competition!

Leicester was enjoyable/unreal... And possibly a one-off, but the likes of
City
Arse
Rags
Chelsea
West Ham
Totty

And to a lesser extent
Pool
Southampton
Leicester

And further into the money future:
Everton

All have a reasonable chance, with varying degrees of luck, of winning the league.

Predicting the top 8 for next year is a nightmare, picking midtable even worse.

Even relegation places are pretty much up Unknown.

So, yes, the 70's/80's were bored by pool, the 90's/00's by rags, now though...

Bollocks, and I'll bet you can't find one little bit of evidence to back that up.

Edit: do you think Barca can't develop players?
Barca tried to get him from Malaga but it didn't happen for whatever reason as has been widely reported.

I cannot be arsed finding the interview to back it up (him alluding to us being short-term intentions by saying something like I'd like to be here a few years more - I can't remember word for word but along them lines) - many on here can validate what I'm referring to, it was within the last few months.

Just because the league is competitive doesnt mean it is any good.
It is competitive because everyone is tactically inept. Any manager with half a tactical brain can do well (tottenham came second wtf!!) . We have a tactical master and philosopher in Pep. I am sure he will he will do just fine.

What league did they come second in? The North London league?

"a few years" can hardly be mistaken for something else. I made a passing comment and was requested to present evidence - done. I just wouldn't be surprised to see him go the way of Denis Suarez. Just being realistic. Unless we become the team to beat in Europe by the time he comes to make an important decision like that.

He is 16, what is he gonna say? I want to retire here? Jesus... he probably just meant he hopes to make it to the first team. I believe the term around here is 'give your fanny a wipe'

Its 2016. Currently the PL is the most competitive league out of all the major leagues. That is not up for debate. Not saying they are the best league or the most entertaining. It is the most competitive. Its a fact.

You also failed to answer my question which is a clear sign you have already lost this argument.
