Transfers can change in an instance
My thoughts are he had agreed to come and bottled it at the 11th hour shit bag, enjoy a trophyless career!
Wow, relax mate. He is only 22 years old. Don't forget he has a major injury, could understand if he wants to stay at his club. Not every player will want to play for city and that's okay.
We don't pay the release clause, only the player can do that, so if we agreed to pay it , it would still be up to the player and he obviously wasn't sure, hence we gave him a deadline. Nothing to do with us being slow, we offered to pay his release a while ago.Just my opinion but we could have activated his release clause at any time...the longer you leave it the longer a young kid is going to start having doubts.....We signed Gundogan while he was injured, no reason to not have done the same with Laporte...he's been back running for nearly a month!...guess I'll calm down after typing this but feel we were slow, to slow in getting this deal done and its given his current club a window to get back into the race....
