My thoughts are he had agreed to come and bottled it at the 11th hour shit bag, enjoy a trophyless career!

Just my opinion but we could have activated his release clause at any time...the longer you leave it the longer a young kid is going to start having doubts.....We signed Gundogan while he was injured, no reason to not have done the same with Laporte...he's been back running for nearly a month!...guess I'll calm down after typing this but feel we were slow, to slow in getting this deal done and its given his current club a window to get back into the race....

Doubts about leaving and Barca been tapping him up for a move in the future?

I really don't see where the U-turn has come from. There must be something to this.

Wow, relax mate. He is only 22 years old. Don't forget he has a major injury, could understand if he wants to stay at his club. Not every player will want to play for city and that's okay.

I'm fine pal, just my opinion I think he shit out and like Ric just said looks like he did it without even telling us.

So he wants to stay at Bilbao...fucking Bilbao!

I'd understand if he was in a team that actually competes for something more than the 4th place trophy in La Liga. Wow, zero ambition for a 21 year old!

One thing that always strikes that why our transfers are always so dramatic? Like Delph last summer, KDB dragging on... etc

Said it, his heart didn't want the move. He knew of our interest since March. Good player but we didn't miss out, he missed out. Good luck to him but we'll be more than fine. Next up, Stones.

I don't understand why so many think that Denayer wouldn't get any game time.. I honestly believe that the plan is to make him into an Right Back, and then play him there and learn from Sagna.

Stones and Denayer is more than enough on top of the current centre back options we have.

Money can be spent on a couple of full backs.

We don't pay the release clause, only the player can do that, so if we agreed to pay it , it would still be up to the player and he obviously wasn't sure, hence we gave him a deadline. Nothing to do with us being slow, we offered to pay his release a while ago.

Indeed. Watch loads will say he is shite anyways. Especially the ones that have never seen him play and got their brains turned by media reports.

Btw even with Pep we are still not one of the major attractions for players. But we move forward as we have been doing over the last 8 years.
