N'Golo Kante

we really should be making a huge push on kante! amazing player and huge upgrade on fernando
We don't need Kante or any alike DM. We need Kroos or someone like him to carry the building up from the backline. And with Pep we might even see Fernandinho or Yaya ending up as a CB.
Yaya at centre back ... Spits cofee everywhere ... You mad?

I thought I recalled MP using Fernandinho at CB at least once and he did well?

I tell you what, the battle for Kante's signing will be a tough one.
Right now, he is the best versatile defensive midfielder in Europe. All the top clubs will be willing to get him while he still hasn't reached his peak yet.
If we pull this one, we have our midfield spine anchor set up for at the very least five years, priceless.

You don't know that. But what I do know is that we need Kroos much more than we do need Kante. I don't understand how people can't see that, especially the ones who claim to understand the Pep way of playing football.

Of course in a vacuum you'd choose Kroos over Kante 95/100 times. With an aging slow midfield we're in need of youth and pace. Finding a midfielder of Kantes quality at 20m and also preventing him from joining our rivals is a very rare opportunity.

Kante release clause is like 20 million

Kroos I bet would cost 40-50 million at least. Get your point about pep kind of guy though

Kante could well be a one season wonder like Vardy will turn out to be. And Leicester probably as well. I hope our management isn't drawn into the Leicesterhype.

Kantes skill set isn't prone to variance like Mahrez and Vardys are. We know that both Vardy and Mahrez are devistating on the counter and they were surrounded perfectly with a squad that is tailor built for both of them. We don't know how they'd play in our squad vs teams that sit back which gives credence to the one season wonder point you made. Kante's skill set is based on work rate, intelligence, athleticism, and timing. Those skills translate universally to all squads so the probability of a significant drop in form is extremely low from my perspective.

We should say we want you badly AND
How much do you want us to pay Leicester up and beyond the release clause.
Even at £40m he'd be a wonderful deal.

You not seen Kante in the euros? He has been one of their best players.

He will do great whenever he is next season.

Bit harsh that mate. I gave you a few genuine links the other day. :) Everything is very quiet because he said he wanted to focus on the euros and not make a decision until they are done - but the French media who in this instance will be far more reliable than the British, are saying that it's Arsenal, Chelsea, and City at the table along with PSG.
Apologies Billy,i must have had a brain fart.......it does appear a bit too in depth a report to simply be pie in the sky.....so why is it in isolation? surely other agencies would have been on to the transfer if there was greater substance to it?

sounds like a replacement has been found

Nampalys Mendy due in Leicester on Monday

According to our colleagues at L’Équipe, OGC Nice defensive midfielder Nampalys Mendy is close to a move to Leicester City.

Nice and Leicester are very close to reaching a fee agreement worth a little under €15m, and OGC Nice are set to allow him to join the Foxes, despite an offer worth at least €15m from West Ham that they received towards the end of the week.

Mendy is even expected to head to Leicester on Monday in order to complete the final details of the transfer.
