As his club is currently in 1st place, Barca might sign him and keep him there until the season is finished which ends close to the winter window.

Don't see why we couldn't do that if it really made a difference to Palmeiras or the player. It's not like we're going to be immediately reliant on him. Better to get him 6 months late than not at all.

That's true. Would love to bring this player in. Palmerias primary concern is holding on to him until the end of the season and hoping their form continues and win the league after he brought them the cup last season.

Would he get a work permit if he's not played full international ? Perhaps if Barca bid helps to show unique talent

Does the Olympics count towards helping him secure a permit? New Brazilian National Team manager seems really high on him so selection shouldn't be too far away.

There are three bids for Gabriel from United €19.5m, City €21.5m and Barcelona €19m plus €5m in bonuses. The player’s contract mentions five clubs (Manchester United, PSG, Juventus, Real Madrid and Barcelona) could sign him for only €24m, as the release clause for all other European sides is €40m. We are still the club furthest away from activating the clause. The economic rights are divided between his club Palmeiras 30%, his agent 32.5%, his former agent 22.5% and himself 15%. I can't see him coming to us, been heavily linked with Barcelona.

If United are in for him as well then work permit shouldn't be an issue
