I assume someone is running exit polls but I read that the main broadcasters have not commissioned exit polls; is that really the case?
I wouldn't know being so far away but it would be an incredibly expensive exercise. Exit polling is based on comparing identical booths and looking for a swing. For a one off you would have to have a very very big sample size and also a very big outreach on postal votes so it could be that the sample requires would be 5 or 10x normal and even then they have no idea whether there will be an honest answer or if they would have to factor for people not being honest. Think £ and fear of being wrong probably have kept them off it.

There's a difference between lying and deliberating re-interpreting someone else's intentions.

I don't understand why someone would be so stupid for the backing of John Barnes!

I suspect Gove could probably have argued a lot of people round as he's probably the smartest of the lot. Unfortunately he's held back by the fact that he's probably close to Osborne on the 'disliked politicians' list.

A man meets a Genie and gets three wishes

However any of his wishes that are granted, also come true for all the politicians in the world times two.
Genie: What is your first wish?
Man: I want a million dollars.
Genie: You now have a million dollars and all the worlds politician now receive two million.
Genie: What is your second wish?
Man: I want a new Mercedes.
Genie: You now have a new Mercedes and all the worlds politician now receive two of them.
Genie: What is your third and final wish?
Man: I want to donate a kidney.

Meanwhile 3 years after Remain wins....

"re-interpreting someone else's intentions", i like that, it has always been known as lying where i am from. Will have to remember that one.
I have no idea why he would think anyone would be swayed by John Barnes but there we go.
Sadly he fails to argue anyone round even his dad who said he had re-interpreting someone else's intentions.

Doesn't trump Cameron's lies - comments from the Turkish president adviser last night on newsnight about how they felt about what Cameron has said about turkey eu entry to the public and to them.

Got the wrong guy here, i know Cameron tells lies, i had a thread about the bollocks him and his ilk waffle.

Looks like this has already been discussed. I just dived into the thread at a point and responded before reading on... Not got time to read a lot anyhow. I think concerns over accuracy are the main factor putting the broadcasters off.

Guess one will just have to stay up and watch the results come in. I certainly think it could be close and, whatever the result, I think a large Leave vote is important. I am still fairly neutral on the outcome; although I will vote. I will vote with my conscience on what I think will lead to the best long term outcome for the country but I honestly don't think one an be certain of the ultimate consequences of voting either way. I think there are positives and negatives to both potential results and whatever choice the nation makes, we are going to need good strong government going forward. If we remain, I hope a large Leave vote will provide the government a platform on which to base a drive for the right sort of change in the EU; although it may be overly optimistic to have such hopes.

Well, Barnes made a statement. His words were then used out of context, but did not contradict what had been said.
Still bloody stupid.

@Ric

Are we (well, are you!) changing the heading at the top tomorrow with people putting own what they actually voted?

Well,i'm sat here, with voting papers next to me,and the truth is i still dont have a fucking clue what to do for the best......? i suspect i'm far from alone.
