City 9/4 with bookies, then Utd, Arsenal, Chelsea, Spurs

Talksport http://talksport.com/football/every...01617-season-strugglers-title-challengers?p=0 as:

City
Utd
Liverpool
Chelsea
Arsenal
Spurs
WHU
Leicester
Everton
Soton
Stoke
Swansea
Palace
Sunderland
WBA
Boro
Hull
Bournemouth
Watford
Burnley

The only position in there you'd have to argue with his Man Utd. They aren't going to be in the top 4 unless they buy a whole new team

3 or 4 players of the right quality could easily see the rags challenge for the league Marv.

Bookies also take into account the amount of bets being placed ,so with there being 650 million rags they probably don't have to offer as good odds as they should

Which is also why Liverpool are above Arsenal surely? I would also seriously doubt Chelsea being above Spurs. Chelsea weren't just unlucky they were shit - and that under a supposedly good manager in Hiddinck. Conte needs a whole new squad and, being in mid table and not in Europe, which top players will sign?

They were shit but not through a lack of quality in personnel.

Amazing !!

The poorest, laziest leaderless squad we've had since 2011.

Pep may be good but he's not a magician.

Indeed!

I keep reading that every player is going to be so much better this season. I fucking hope so because most of em were shite last season.

We need 3/4 new players and they need to be the right age and top quality with desire!

There is a lot to do...

Yes,bookies don't give good prices if they don't have to .

It's amazing that the bookies make us favourites most years now but some of the rag / dipper infested media 'pundits' will becoming out shortly and saying we won't even make the top 4 as per usual.
Bring on:
Merson
Savage
Collymore
Camel Gob
Hoddle
etc, etc.

Best to wait till Sept 1st to see who signs whom.

Much will have to happen at City for us to still be favourites, particularly a huge improvement in the attitude & fitness of the players.

Anyone who thinks Pep arriving will just transform last years lot into Champlons is in for an unpleasant shock.......as Pep is !!

Reality check people, weve gone much further back than most people think.

I think that attitudes will improve quickly under Pep, he seems to be a person that doesn't accept laziness or poor work ethic , Pep will drop players if he sees that they are not working hard enough. I can see him bringing back the hunger that we lacked in many parts of the season. Lets not forget we won the first 5 games and had arguably the strongest squad on paper to many people in the beginning of the season.

I will not blame Pellegrini but it seems he gave players like Bony, Yaya, & Kolarov too many chances while being afraid of giving the younger players a chance and his team selection at crucial times had me scratching my head.

I can see why there are rumors saying we'll only buy 4-5 players. It makes sense to me because we have a tremendous squad that severely under-performed due to various reasons (Injuries, Pep announcement, team selection, etc). We also have many promising youngsters that can without a doubt at least play part-time roles under Pep. A transfer window that would see 7-8 new starters coming in is the stuff of fairy tales.

IMO Pep will get this team performing to their potential. We will win the league and go deep in the CL and cups.

There's some exaggerating going on here, we haven't gone that far backwards. The managerial change alone will give us a fresh impetus regardless of who it is.

Before we see whether we have a good chance let's se who Pep will bring in and who will go. Only when that is done can we get a better idea of where we will finish in the league. I sincerely hope it will be in 1st place with the rags coming in about 8/9th and be out of Europe altogether, now wouldn't that be good for us. NO rags in Europe at all.

Deluded? So Pellegrini not challenging for it last season with the squad he had was to be expected then?

There is a difference between being one of the challengers and being the favourite amongst them i believe.
problems we experienced last season cant just be wiped out with pep incharge.
