On a serious note. Whilst they've always been very close friends (always without fail room together with Albiceleste unless one isn't there) - Serg and Leo do seem to be a bit more pally this summer. Growing beards together?

Perfect for blending into NQ surroundings - hmm.

They also quit the NT together too, ya? Or has Kun not committed to that?

I don't think Kun came out and said it from what i remember but he at least alluded to it by saying something like - "[it might not be a bad idea for us to let the new blood through to reinvigorate the team.]"

There is bad blood with their FA over something but obviously they are all extremely frustrated with 4 lost finals and emotion was running high straight after the match so unless either of them release statements I wouldn't take it as a guarantee

Gotcha. Thanks for clearing that up. I figured messi was probably just steaming at the time anyway.

All this Spanish is to put us off the scent. We're getting someone from Iceland. Obviously.

I'm going for:

Bun: Stones & (possibly) Varane
Icing: Nolito, Kroos & Sane
Cherry: Messi

Naturally this plan will go to shit because Txiki.

It seems pretty evident we're after x2 centre backs which I find strange to say we need 2 fullbacks either side and surely we'd have to sell a current centre back to make this work, unless Pep plans on doing something unusual like moving Vinny to CDM.

Already got Gundogan, Nolito unless we fck up in monumental fashion which can always happen with us, ls also done. Heavy links with Sane and makes sense with Pep's previous comments.

Are we genuinely going to go for this overhaul business? Past seasons just makes me not think so and expect to be underwhelmed. It's a LOT of business to be done in incomings and outgoings if so, I wonder if it's too ambitious to get it all done - unless of course, we are going to be underwhelmed and key areas that need strengthening will be overlooked, again.

What more than £80m? no chance. He's a £60m striker at best and he ain't getting any younger.

Maybe the Sane thing is cold at the moment because he is at EURO's then on holiday, but maybe, just maybe...its because city are waiting on hearing about another left sided attacker.
Aubameyang was £60m plus. Martial £58m and that was last season. Now average strikers go for £30m That kid Chelsea have just signed. Saido Mane £30m plus. Benzema is a world class player.

Not sure if you are being serious here but assuming you are...I think this is an interesting post. I would go for the exact same names. To then say that the plan will go to shit because of Txiki is odd. We wouldn't be in the position to sign Sane, Kroos, Messi, Varne, and possibly Stones except for the fact we have Txiki.

Don't think we need fullbacks this window. Clichy and Sagna have another season in them. Navas could be a RB. Fernandinho could be a RB. Delph could be a LB. Under Pep, the fullbacks are often wide midfielders. Then there is Angelino...

It was tongue in cheek.

I do feel he's overlooked the fullback positions one summer window too long so can't afford to do it again. Clichy and Sagna, unless Pep works some black magic, won't win us the CL. They aren't at the level of RM, Bayern or Barca fullback (dunno who Alves replacement is gonna be). This talk of Navas at RB is wild, he's not got the physique of a fullback but not saying I can't be proven wrong. Ferna at fullback, could work but has he got the dribbling or crossing ability? Plus he's a world class player when on song in his position, he'd be wasted there.

If it is Messi though, Txiki is the man to sign him.

Aubameyang > Benzema

Aubameyang's price was £58m according to reports, yet he's 2 years younger. No way Benzema is a possibility.

Bruno Peres is too good of a fit to pass up on. RB should be a cheap position to fill anyway? What's the max he would cost us? If somebody buys him for like 14m that'll bewilder the hell out of me. We were linked with Bellerin FFS anyway and he would have cost a fortune so we know it was a position we're ready to shell out for.

I think pep is more likely to want someone who has a track record in the premier league like he signed alonso for Bayern even though he was over 30 than a young show pony with no premier league experience
And what German league experience did Alonzo have when Pep signed him to play in Germany?
