Labour / Tory Party meltdown Referendum fallout

My money's been on Gove from day one. He seems such a really nice guy.

What makes me chuckle when I think about it is that Boris was most likely Remain and went away to "agonize" with his conscience and in the end decided it was in his best - sorry his country's best - interests to go Leave. He had been leading Dave to believe he was a Remainer but instead told Dave he was backing Leave a couple of minutes before he went public. That caught Dave and his team on the hop and sealed the dislike for Boris from Dave's side.

Fast forward and Boris has been let down and back stabbed by his "best ally". Wonder how he feels about that sort of dastardly action?

I hope Corbyn holds on until the report comes out next week.

I am starting to believe this is his aim. To prove his side of the argument was right over this, to denounce Bliar and Straw publicly and to maybe see if it helps ease pressure on him as he was anti-war himself.

It's being said that Gove's plan was to convince Boris to support Leave as he has/had the appeal to all levels of society and the ability to convince the hard of thinking that Leave was in their best interests. Gove himself is stiff and stuffy and looks odd on camera, despite probably being the brightest of this bunch of Tories.

The plot worked a treat, and Boris convinced enough people with his lies and fuzzy plans for the future. However, Gove's plan wasn't complete until he announced he was running. First the 'leaked' email from his wife to soften Boris up, then Gove stuck the knife, and the boot, in by announcing he was a candidate for leadership. Boris was done in by what they're calling 'the cuckoo in the nest' plot.

What Gove hadn't factored in was a lot of Tories are horrified by his duplicity and are likely to get behind May. Gove's boss Murdoch will be pissed off his man won't be in No. 10, but he has his Brexit wish. Wouldn't surprise me if it was Murdoch's plan all along.

I wonder if Corbyn will be observing the Somme anniversary? Doubtful, he's probably defending his antisemitic pals.

One week on and I ponder how my 'old, Northern, lower class and uneducated' vote helped the political system go it meltdown.

Surely it was Raheem Sterling wot dun it yer Honnour.

I know Gove is Scottish but I'm sure he didn't have this Scottish accent yesterday or any other day that I have heard him speak.

and if you wrote that as a plot for a political thriller before yesterday that would be thought unbelievable !!! Now its just a statement of fact.

Osborne now abandoned his goal (which he was unlikely to achieve anyway) of eliminating the budget deficit by 2020.

Its a bit like Dave at PMQ's - not his problem... speak to the next fella in this seat... both benefit from a get out of jail free card as a result of losing. some comfort for them.
