Racist incidents on the rise?

The heat, the flies, the venomous insects, arachnids and snakes, boguns, shit beer, shit sports, shit telly, shit cars, and casual racism.

Well there is that. Thank you for being a little more polite than the previous poster who told me to fuck off.

To be fair mate, I would not bail to Oz at the first sign of trouble. Not going to lie though, it has been on my mind a bit since the result came through.

A couple of my uncles went over in the early 60s, £10 assisted passage. First one came home because his wife was diagnosed with cancer and wouldn't have treatment because she was pregnant. She died a few weeks after giving birth and he brought the kids home. Second one got homesick after a few years and came back, then got homesick for Australia and moved back there, only to get homesick for England and moving home for the final time in the early 80s.
I had a mate who emigrated in the 70s but he got deported after two years.

Its a points based system. I have enough points as I have spent 10 years studying while working full time, to enable me to accumulate said points.
You have missed the point not talking about you okay. But refugees with no points and no skills haven't got a chance of getting in to Oz

Not sure why Brexit would influence your decision to go as Australia has a points based system itself which is discriminatory and what many of the Brexiters are advocating.

I lived in Sydney for three years and thought it was the bee all and end all as it suited my lifestyle so well.

Came back moped about for a few years and found a place in the Uk which could offer me the same type of life. The beaches are better here also, the places have more character and variety and now I would not even consider moving back.

where?

I live in Bournemouth but I am more referring to the jurassic coast stretching down to devon. I appreciate its a personal opinion though.

Do not get me wrong the beaches were great in Oz but a lot of the towns felt soulless with little in the way of character.

Last saturday I went to highcliffe beach with a castle which belonged to the Selfridges and was left abandoned for years, so much do that Bill Bryson mentioned in his books how the locals when he asked about it never knew.

Next stop Barton on Sea beautiful rocky/shingle beach with shear cliffs followed by Milford on sea and an old miltary fort king charles was locked up in the 1600s and was a military in garrison in the second world war protecting the solent and assisting the D-day landings. Britain is pretty special in relation to the history and variety of places.
