Toni Kroos

Probably Real negotiating tactics they are dirty dogs, master of dark arts.
True and they will still be fuming from that crap with the fax machine the rags pulled on deadline day last year. Pogba will only go to the Salford Desperados if they break the bank and smash their pay structure to pieces. This I would estimate at about 30-40% chance still 60-70% likely to end up in Madrid. If this transpires Kroos will be on his way to us if we are willing to pay for him.

I believe the outcome of this is now wholly dependent on whether Pogba moves to Real. Think it's been made clear to Kroos that if Pogba does, then they would be willing to sell him for the right price. Perhaps not feeling wanted by Real might be what persuades Kroos to make the move to City :-)

Why does it matter if Real get Pogba? If he has a release clause then surely if we want him we just trigger it and leave it up to the player where he wants to play.

Because his initial reaction to our interest was that he preferred to stay at Real. However, if he has been told that they are willing to sell him (for whatever reason, maybe for example, to release funds for a really big transfer?) then, if he doesn't feel wanted maybe he might opt for a move away.

Seems a risky game all this though!
Pogba's agent seems to be on a mission to get his entire client base to United.

Nahh he's playing them and that dimwit Edwood falls for it all the time. 100m to the scum or 80m to Real Pogba only wants Real after the treatment he got from that Rancid club b

Chicken or the egg? I think Real needing to target Pogba is conditional on us luring Kroos, not the other way round

His initial reaction was a carefully worded statement from a Real Madrid player trying to avoid burning bridges with the club he remains under contract for.

It has been widely reported for some time that he would open to the move and that his family were unsettled in Madrid regardless.

Remains to be seen, but there's always the chance we can trigger his release clause then tempt him away with Pep factor and money. He's not exactly earning what he should at Real anyway.

What do we think Kroos is on @ Real? We would surely be looking at putting him on Sergio / Yaya money.

So if Real sign Pogba, it would allow them to sell Kroos to us.
If they don't sign Pogba, what happens then?
Do they want to replace Kroos full stop, or are they just doing this for a refreshment of the 11?

As far as I know, same money as Ramos (€10m per year) There were reports he was getting 12, but I think they were proven false. Either which way, it's much less than Yaya is on and he's worth as much.

Wouldn't be surprised if they had given him an extra large salary due to getting him relatively cheap, a la Mkhitaryan at United

His contract was one of the ones leaked.

He's on €10.9m/year basic, but in his first season he got €12m.

That's £180k p/w or £195k p/w in his first year.

The most interesting thing about his contract was that he gets paid every 6 months. So he wakes up twice a year with an extra €5.5m in his bank account which must be a nice feeling.

There's an article with images of the contract here - http://www.goal.com/en/news/722/la-...i-kroos-real-madrid-contract-and-300m-release

Interesting. If that's the case, then he's still quite a bit short of Yaya money but infinitely more valuable now and for the foreseeable future.

This is all smoke and mirrors and I'm struggling to believe any of this will happen.
Come the end of August Pogba will still be at Juventus and Kroos will still be at Real.
To me Pogba has to move to Real for us to get Kroos.
The likely hood is that the status quo will remain.

I think Pogba will force a move to Real when the Euros are over. Seeing the wages some other players make compared to what Juve are paying him, he must be going crazy. We can (should!) guarantee Kroos first team which Real would not be able to do with Pogba. Give up Toure on a free transfer, take his 12mil wages for next year off the books and give to Kroos.

This is hopeful but what an end to the window if we can sign Sane, Kroos, Stones and Peres with surely more to come in January and next summer...

"It was during the heady first years of "Blairs Britain" and the prevelence of "student nights" at pubs"

The early 2000's, when I first first started hitting the clubs, were just as good.
5th Avenue and Satan's Hallow did 50p drink nights on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Friday was more expensive at £1.00 per drink.
It's not that long ago, really, but I feel like a granny talking about the price of smokes when she was a nipper.
I think they were technically student nights, but they'd let anyone in. You could get blitzed on a tenner. Everyone did. And it was AMAZING.

Good point... But don't think Yaya is going anywhere

If you think that, put a bet on Pogba to remain at Juve. Skybet are currently offering 3/1 on him staying at Juve. £100 will get you £300!

(United are 8/15 to get him and Real 5/2.)
