Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers: "Patrick (Roberts) is different to Sterling. Raheem is speed, wing play, Patrick is more a David Silva type."
http://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2016/05/2...-discusses-comparisons-between-patric/page/1/ good to read.Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers: "Patrick (Roberts) is different to Sterling. Raheem is speed, wing play, Patrick is more a David Silva type."
The lad does nothing better than Silva at this moment, FACT. Rodgers should use him more as a No.10 i think i fully season 35-45 games the lad will mature playing in a similar style to our's, maybe even ready for England squad, dont take much does it...
More Hazard than Silva IMO,either way, certainly not a traditional winger, but then neither is Raheem....!I'd actually agree with Brendan there. Roberts dribbles better than Silva, but he's similar in the fact that he's more about close control and quick feet, like Silva, when compared to Sterling.
No one thinks he does anything better than Silva yet obviously. Point is he's closer to Silva technically speaking than Sterling, and I agree. He's much more of a natural dribbler than merlin is as well.

Dont bank on seeing Roberts though..........so far,Rodgers hasn't been giving him much game time.Celtic are away to Lincoln Red Imps of Gibraltar tomorrow, it's on at 7:00pm - BT Sport 2 for anyone wanting to watch. CL qualifier, first leg.
I hope City are happy with him in that role - especially if it limits his playing time. I hope there's something in the loan that allows Roberts to return if not played regularly or simply not happy. I don't have any faith in Rodgers.Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers: "Patrick (Roberts) is different to Sterling. Raheem is speed, wing play, Patrick is more a David Silva type."

Even tomorrow is still basically pre-season for them, we don't know what his fitness level is. I'd give him some leeway yet.Dont bank on seeing Roberts though..........so far,Rodgers hasn't been giving him much game time.
Yep,that's fair comment.Even tomorrow is still basically pre-season for them, we don't know what his fitness level is. I'd give him some leeway yet.
Mind you if he doesn't start the return leg at least I'm starting up a #SaveOurPat campaign. I might as well get in first before someone else does ;)Yep,that's fair comment.
Hopefully i'm wrong,Rodgers does rate him and is simply easing him back in.
I've been doing the same, Celtic have been truly atrocious. Lincoln are winning 1-0 btw for anyone wondering with only 5 minutes to go and Celtic have used all 3 subs with no Roberts. Probably best for his ankles tbh, not that Celtic have been much better in that regard.Forcing myself to watch it for the past 20 mins. Celtic are crap and Rodgers looks as clueless as ever. I bet he's been trying act the big bollox in preseason and has them all knackered and belittled.
I never understand how people claim he was good for young players. Think he's just a bluffer who got lucky here and there.
