Millwall fans refused entry - Complaint upheld

Yet they're happy to sell hundreds of tickets (in the home end) to away fans of European teams we're playing. Fancy that.

They would have sat there.and enjoyed the game like every other responsible adults who go to matches though, wouldn't they ?

No I don't think so neither, does not surprise me they were not let in,but they are right to have a go at the club I suppose,GMP knocked fuck out of them at Maine Rd,never mind the fans, and as both sets of fans were once banned from attending the others grounds a particular season,I find it strange for them to want to go to a City match, especially with the bad blood between both sets of fans, well when they brought half of London clubs other fans with them

Ah the good old ticket office, the general staff in my experience have always been pleasant polite and efficient but the powers that be leave a lot to be desired.

There was 4 of them, one a 65 year old bloke, not a coach load of Harry the Dog lunatics. What happened 15 odd years ago would have no baring on it.
That's four empty seats less we'd have had that day!

Can I see a picture of the guilty party before passing judgement.

we let in hundreds of away fans and dont seemingly care because they pay the money. yet we refuse to let in a retired 65 year old because he's a millwall fan. makes the ticket office look so stupid and petty

There's also the bad feeling caused to four people 200 miles from home who want to watch a football match, and the negative publicity when this inevitably hits the tabloids.

Its absolutely shameful how being a football fan in this country can automatically deny you freedoms in any other walk of life you take for granted.

But when you see and read some some comments you can understand it why there is this thinking. Some cannot see past 'Millwall fans' as if they are some how responsible for the behaviour of others.

If this kind of demonisation of a group/race/religion it would quite rightly be vilified by everybody but some Millwall fans misbehave so everyone deserves to be tarred with the same brush. Depressingly our club was involved.

How did they reveal themselves as Millwall fans? If they were wearing Millwall kit then it is probably right not to let them as right or wrong it would provoke trouble. If they told the cashier they were Millwall fans to get some kind of kudos, then that backfired didn't it?

If they had come in the ground chanting Millwall there would have been a problem, so why let the cashier know they are Millwall fans and have to make a decision?

They were probably asked if they had purchase history, and innocently mentioned that they were here for the Oldham/Millwall game. Schoolboy error.
