The seeds in the 3rd round won't necessarily be seeded in the playoff round. It'll depend on the rankings of the five who qualify.
 
City are now 11th in UEFA's coefficient table - 17 points and 9 places better than the rags. Interestingly, if the rags had qualified for the Champions League they'd almost certainly have ended up in pot 3.

That will be put right next season no matter what. I can see there being 15 pots.
 
I know the answer will be somewhere in this thread - but to save the reading do we actually know when our qualified will be - I am just hoping that it is not between 24/07- 09/08 because of a family holiday but fear that I am going to be unlucky?

The first leg comes in between our first 2 league games I think. Not 100%

Just shows how important finishing 3rd or higher is. I wouldn't be convinced of qualifying against either Roma/Monchengladbach. The other ties are awkward to get to as well.

The only benefit to getting the two teams I mentioned would be the thought of knocking them out - thus damaging the Italian and German coefficient which would be good for English clubs moving forward.
 
Let's see who comes through the 2nd qualifying rounds 1st. Then we shall be more able to se who we may have in the qualifying round, just as long as we are away 1st, then we will know what we have to do the get to the group stages of the Champions League. We do need to get to the last 4 of this competition again and also do better than any other of the English qualifiers.

The opposite for me, I'd need the first leg to be at home or I'll miss it.

Enjoy, Roma is amazing though it can be hot in Aug. Not unbearable if you keep cold Peroni's close all the time tho ;)

The 2nd qualifying rounds are irrelevant to us as that involves the Champions Route only. We are in the League Route.

The draw for the 3rd Round League Route is tomorrow, the 10 teams below will be in the draw, with a seeded side being drawn against an unseeded side:

The winner of the 5 ties will go through to join the 5 sides below already in the Playoff/4th round, the top 5 sides on coefficient will be seeded and drawn against an unseeded team. The draw is on the 5th August 2016.

Us, Porto and Villarreal are definitely seeded and the rest will be decided based on who goes through in the 3rd Round.

It is decided which team is at home/away first via the method below:
For both routes, balls containing the seeded clubs are put into one bowl, with balls for the unseeded sides positioned in another. A ball is taken from each bowl and placed in a large empty bowl in the middle, where they are shuffled. The first side drawn will play their first match at home, against the second one drawn.

Out of the possible match-ups, Gladbach would be by far the toughest opponent and a very realistic one assuming the higher seeded teams like Shakhtar, Ajax and Anderlecht don't screw it up.
