Pep Wants Nutrition Expert

Ah but folks Bony is hiding the fat behind the fact he does kick ups while walking out of the changing rooms every day to impress Pep.
Yes we get it Wilfred, you can keep the ball up,shame you cant do fck all else with it.

Pep got a Nutrition Expert in at Bayern after he saw them eating Cream buns etc.I wonder what some of our lot have been eating.

My post wasn't in support of Bony in general mate just pointing out that calling him fat is absurd.

Haha ok mate,i get you.
To your average joe,he isnt fat.
But to your top level footballer he does look a little heavy, but i will be the first to hold my hand up if he starts banging the ball in the back of the net each week. :)

I won't name names, but someone I know was once, erm, invited back to a certain ex-player's house during the Mancini era and his front room had a pile of pizza boxes 3ft/4ft high.

You can probably work out who it is.

He's all lean muscle but he's overweight. I think that's a better term to describe him. If he lost a couple stones and become faster I think he'd fit us better.

You can tell the soft living in gay Canada has warped your manliness into something altogether softer and more metrosexual. No real northern man would ever eat pudding and chips without mushy peas and gravy. You should be ashamed of yourself you moose whispering ****.

I don'y eat anything without gravy. It goes without saying. Mushy peas can fuck right off.

Not only were there always pizza's wheeled in during the Mancini era, if anyone remembers the camera's following City to Craven Cottage at that time a stack of pizza's was supplied by Fulham at the end of the game. My main surprise at the time was that we had left the dressing room looking like an absolute pig sty! We all remember the pizza incident when Ferguson got one in the face from Fabregas and my understanding was that it was something that was normal for clubs to provide.

This smacks of Pellegrini doing whatever to keep the players happy. A bit like over feeding your missus so she can't moan and fuck off anywhere.

Never mind 'your average joe' - to anyone playing with a full deck.....he isnt fat,not fucking remotely.

He has an awesome physique, the problem being,it isnt optimal or practical in a football sense - it makes him awkward and he lacks mobility,i'm sure he would be more effective if he altered his training regime, diet and, possibly, his 'supplements'.

Pizza or similar, may be on the menu once,or twice,a week as a reward meal.

I eat pizza regularly and also regularly struggle to play about 30 mins of 5 a side without feeling like I'm about to die. There could be something in this nutrition lark.

I recall seeing trays of pizza (amongst other things) going into the dressing room on the tunnel cam under Pellegrini's reign, maybe there's some truth to it. I could imagine Yaya and Nasri indulging in such things.

The club had a nutritionist surely? I'm sure I've seen it mentioned on City TV they've been monitoring everything from what they eat to how much sleep they are getting for some time. I think during the week and after the match were separate though... maybe seen as a treat for the players if they give their all they can have pizza, high energy food as a reward. I think it would have been harder for someone like Pellegrini to change this rule and take it away from them(it was there in the Mancini days and before that I imagine) lets not forget how far we've come, the club will have wanted to keep these star names happy to keep hold of them as we established ourselves at the top. Now it's different we are one of the top clubs with the worlds best manager and some of the best facilities they'll ever see at a club... it's now time for the players to keep the club happy if they want to stay.

Not joking, it went on in Bobby's tenure as well, heres some evidence, pizzas clearly visable

NB ironically has an advert for Pizza Hut underneath as I post this - RIC OUT

No fucking wonder they couldn't perform last season......if I eaten pizza and chips the last sodding thing I then want to do is run around for 90 minutes. That is just shocking, I would expect it in the late 80's and early 90's but not now !!!!

All I can picture is the ending credit for dodgeball....when the once gym God has piled on the pounds eating pizza and chips after losing his Globo-Gym dream

Eating pizza directly post game is perfectly normal, they need the carbs. On that liverpool documentary they interviewed the chef and he said after the game they give them cake (amongst other things which I'm sure includes the likes of pizza). Also remember the pizza gate in the tunnel with arsenal and united years ago, here's what bacon face said on it:

"The next thing I knew I had pizza all over me. We put food into the away dressing room after every game. Pizza, chicken. Most clubs do it. Arsenal's food was the best. They say it was Cesc Fabregas who threw the pizza at me but to this day, I have no idea who the culprit was."

So don't worry about the pizza post match

Players should definitely be eating proper food most/all of the rest of the time though. Glad to see Pep setting standards

It was after the game they had the food... still probably not ideal especially if they took it for granted rather than reward after putting in extra effort(I kind of like the idea when they haven't put the effort in they get a really healthy shit meal like boiled potatoes to refuel them instead). I think we have to be sensible about it personally, they will have definitely been eating healthy food in the week IMO and maybe we shouldn't make such a big deal over a treat once a week after a game where they expend tons of energy. Also can't Pizza be made healthy they do gluten free pizzas and all sorts now.

That was quite sensible for bluemoon. :) I agree it's hard for us none athletes to grasp that they still need high energy food, sugar, carbs and fat... the body needs a lot of this stuff it's just getting the right amounts of them which is the tricky part I imagine.
