Deal dead

I don't know about "dead".

It was widely reported that Bonucci was dangled by Juventus to us, we didn't make the first approach. Gazetta seems determined to push a story of Bonucci going to City and Football Italia/The Mirror are both reporting it's a done deal. It could well be that Juve want Bonucci himself to ask to leave to avoid looking like the bad guys for selling one of their most beloved players.

Or Di Marzio could be right, but I certainly don't take him as gospel on these things any more, particularly on Juventus and City.

This will be like any other Juventus transfer.

They won't sell unless the player asks to leave.

So I'm sure Di Marzio is right, they have no intentions of selling him, but they won't keep him if he wants away.

The difficulty is in convincing the player he wants to leave enough to force the issue in Turin.

They'll want to accept our offer for him, just as they'd want to sell Pogba for £100+, but they won't accept either offer as they're a big club and don't sell players who want to stay.

If the player wants to leave however, well they don't want players who don't want to stay there. I don't think Bonucci will need to force a deal, just publicly states he wants to go.

Another Kaka situation of who bottles it first

Correct. Bonucci should put in a transfer request.

Will both Bonucci and Pogba leave. A lot of Italian papers are saying that Pogba has made his decision and he wants to leave for United. I hope we get Bonucci though.

Yep tommorows mirror says it's close

City seem to have ramped things up over the last week or so with Sane and Stones looking like they are nearly done. Hopefully we can add Bonucci to the list, I think he'd be a great buy for us.

Dealing with Italian clubs seem to be a nightmare though so wouldn't surprise me if this runs on for a while yet.
