BT Sport

I have registered a complaint against Danny Mills this morning. He's an agenda driven embarrassment against us IMO.

How much does that shit cost and can you have it for 1 month only?

I don't pay for it. All the Sky channels come up on my zgemma box.

I am hoping another braodcaster picks it up before Monday.

If we thought BT and Sly are biased, can't wait to hear what these cunts are like.

I had one of those 'open box' boxes but it went pear shaped after we moved. I've got sky back but got it for half price for a year. I got bt yesterday so I could watch last night. I can't believe a derby's not on sky or bt, strange

He's a proper cheeky ****, after the living he stole off us.... he's par for the course where BT punditry is concerned though.

Get rid of it. It's the only complaint they understand. If they lose Openreach in the next 2-3 years, the game is up for BT and it's unlikely they will be showing CL, once the current deal runs out as EUFA consider it a "major mistake".

One of the things Mills said that was annoying was that Barcelona were in great form before Guardiola arrived. That is just not true. They finished way behind Real Madrid in the title race (I think the gap was over 10 points), Real did the double over them, including a 4-1 win at the Bernabeu, they won the title very comfortably. It was a team many were saying were a spent force, they had a similar season to us under Pellegrini just gone, Rijkaard had lost the respect of the dressing room, Henry had a poor first season, with Rijkaard having little idea on where to play him, Messi was mostly injured, and Xavi and Iniesta also had poor seasons. They went out of the CL semi to United, in a similar way to our exit to Real. Guardiola turned that underperforming team into the best team in the world by a mile. Do your research Danny.... Oh and he never acknowledged that the referee got in the way of a clearance that led to Bayern's goal, City didn't give the ball away, the ref turned his back on play, which was foolish.

The Head of Live Football at BT Sport (who is supposedly a Blue) is called Stephen Cook.

His Twitter account was @StephenCook22 but it looks like he's deleted it. Can't think why.

His boss, that utter thundercunt Simon Green, got the job after the previous incumbent was supposed to have been sacked for anti-Arsenal bias.

Really? What about the Pep failed at Bayern line, the massive job he has at City, how our players should be honoured to play in that stadium, with such wonderful players etc etc. How Bayern dominated the first half (over and over and over) but not a peep when City dominated the second?

I'm mildly shocked!

I'm not a great fan of Mills, although I prefer him to the bland Michael Owen or the incomprehensible Scholes.
However, he didn't actually say any of those lines in the tone that you're suggesting.

Firstly, he was asked about Pep's time at Bayern, and he replied that their standards are so high that they expect to win the Champions League at the start of every season. At no time did he ever say that Pep was a failure, but if we're making comparisons then Bayern were European Champions under his predecessor Jupp Heynckes
.
He then asserted that the City job would be far more difficult, basically because Bayern have one serious rival, whereas City only finished 4th last season.
Mills was asked about the EDS youngsters, and he answered that our Academy set up was the best in the world. Would you rather he said that it was crap?
As for the game, it was a friendly, and it doesn't really matter.

I don't think you were listening.

He did say Pep was a failure, or at least he said "He was brought in to win the Champions League and when you don't do it....he did the bare minimum by winning the bundesliga, but when he arrived Bayern were champions of Europe and now they're not".

If you cant infer "PEP FAILED" from that, you weren't listening.

He constantly said he wasn't impressed by the academy kids on show.

He also said winning the league once in 3 years would be considered a massive success for Pep at City - which is a view on success no one has had since Mancini.

Now is the time for the fantasy football that the media generally will naturally show bias to their majority subscribers. They are selling boxes, papers, subscriptions etc..
Wait for the MUFC friendlies to see the exaggerated expectations for the new season.
Start of the season brings reality which is a little different but now they must sell their wares especially TV subs so if City do bad it must be good for the majority of potential buyers to pay up for the season.

The newspapers give us views of news not news.
Commentators on TV do the same, we all see the same game but very often our view of the same game differs so apart from crowd reaction why have the sound on?

Mr Mills no longer works for us he works for BT so he is likely to have their view to sell to the gullible or else he finds a different job. Entirely possible he resents his time at City (how many of us give credit to former employers?) so it comes naturally to put the skewed views across.

Watching the match on BT last night was like watching on your own in a pub, with the sound off and having to listen to two local bores chatting all sorts of shit on the next table.
Nailed it.

I can put up with a biased co-commentator (most of them are, unfortunately) but when the match commentator is feeding Mills with prompts it's just ridiculous.

Fair point PB.

I must admit though that it comes to the point where it is better to watch the City games with USA commentators (ie a USA Sports feed) rather than BT or Sky if you want reasonable views.

I watched a German feed last night, i couldn't understand a word, it was bliss.

Actually tha´s not such a bad idea.
Still get the crowd reaction but the commentator opinion is totally irrelevant but the tone of voice may give clues to the message they may impart.
