Centre back pairing and goalkeeper haven't a clue

i get the fact that this is a friendly but the business we have done which affects THIS season is not enough quality wise to make a serious threat 3-4 other clubs have had better windows and frankly look stronger

Didnt learn a thing from that , players playing out of position and some not grasping Pep's tactics , Arsenal should have scored six to be fair , considering that was the last pre-season friendly , we have a lot of work to do , don't think we will win the first five on the bounce like last season , not gonna slag indivdual players , its work in progress , although i thought Yaya looked excellent in the 20 minutes he played and Sterling didnt look like a rabbit in the headlights , a lot better from him. On that showing the Steau Bucharest game is looking tricky , purely because its so early in the season

Just don't know what has to happen for us to get rid of Kolarov. I'm convinced if there was a nuclear war and all life on earth was wiped out he'd still turn up at the Etihad on Saturday to play.

Just a friendly but its frighteningly close to the start of the season / the important CL games and we are still a work in progress. Look disorganised today compared to the reasonably sound performance against Dortmund. Hopefully when the "first team" is on things will look more secure.

For me the problem is fundamentally we aren't comfortable on the ball in defence or even midfield. You can see players dwelling on the ball, panicking on the ball, out of position for receiving and relieving pressure on teammates. Arsenal are a very good pressing side so any flaws will show up worse against them but its a real wakeup call.

With all the GKs we've been linked with, maybe it's getting into Hart's head. We all know what he can do...wish pep could back hart and maybe give him some confidence. Either that or play a competent defense in front of him, because I don't see us being able to sign a top keeper this cycle. Why tf was kolarov back there for 90 minutes? Denayer can't possibly be worse. If kolarov plays at cb at all this year I might not watch those games, because I already know how they'll end. Until today, I was hoping city would keep playing hardball on stones and eventually the transfer would break down. Now, I'll be holding my breath till he's signed, we need him bad. Stones may not be a great defender, but this game showed we need everybody to be able to distribute the ball, one of his strengths. Hopefully otamendis injury isn't too bad, we could use some healthy CBs. I understand this was a friendly, I'm not overly worried, because I can't see a scenario where kolarov/fernando would be starting CBs in a real game.

Kun scored, kelechi scored, sterling and navas with assists, very nice to see. Zinchenko is promising, kdb looks fantastic as always..delph has been impressive. I think yaya can do a job as a super sub this year. One week away from the season, let's do this thing!

its one game, are youngsters not allowed to make mistakes ?

yup...

he made the same mistake vs dortumd as well though...all i was pointing out though was that people are baling hart for the second goal when in reality it was tosin making the same mistake that he has previously made that caused the goal.....people don't want to blame the young lad so blame hart instead

Black shirts, black shorts, and yellow socks against a team playing in red?
The season hasn't even started, and already I'm annoyed.

On the plus side, Zinchenko looked composed, and Yaya seemed more interested than last season.
That's about it really. The ageing players looked even slower and all our defenders scare me to death.

i agree tosin made a mistake, but young players will make mistakes. they all do. if your saying no youngster can make one, we wont have any in our team ever. they have to learn from them.

Can anyone tell me why we had a DM and RB playing as CB's?

Where are Mangala, Otimendi and Denayer?

Ota injured I believe, mangala and Denyar must be feeling pretty despondent, imagine seeing kolorov and Fernando playing in your position
