Rio Olympics

I've only caught bits here and there, not really that interested tbh. I have noticed the crowds though, or rather the lack of them. Have they priced the locals out or is there just a general sense of apathy about the whole thing?

I just don't think they're all that interested in watching sport unless they're in with a chance of winning a medal. They're currently fourth in the gymnastics and the place is packed.

Brazilians are like rags then? In that case I hope they win fuck all.

You was right the first time. It's far too expensive. The cheapest tickets were knocking on for 100 quid when I looked. Also the Zika virus isn't helping matters.

Cheapest tickets are nowhere near £100. Cycling road race was free. They couldn't even be arsed turning out for that.

Why would the Zika virus affect how many Brazilians turn out? They live there.

Flicked through before and saw the volleyball arena half empty, i thought they loved that sport? Also saw a bit of swimming with the Russian getting booed and the pundits slamming her also.
It all made for awkward viewing which is a shame. This was the very first bit of the olympics i watched, hope it picks up a bit as it will just be so cringy seeing and hearing half empty stadiums.

Used to love watching the Olympics but i just find myself wondering what drugs they're on when they win or do personal bests and that's a shame as i'm sure some of the athletes must be clean.

GB third fastest in the men's 100m freestyle heats with new British record. Both the World and Olympic champions only just qualified for the semi-finals.

GB third fastest in men's 200m breaststroke heats.

GB fastest qualifier for men's 4 x 200m freestyle relay final.

Followed by another good silver in the 200m freestyle relay, top swim on the last leg from James Guy.

USA and Phelps take another gold though, just the 25 medals for Phelps, 21 gold.
