Enjoyed the Rugby and looking forward to the Time Trial today.

Don't know if I've been unlucky but the gymnastic girls and the divers haven't kept my attention. I've also not had chance to see the beach volleyball so a bit like our current medal haul a disappointing Olympics so far.

How is our current medal haul disappointing? We've got three silvers and a gold in the swimming so far. We got two bronzes and a silver in total in 2012.

The track cycling hasn't even started yet!
 
The Brazilians aren't coming across very well at these games. They only seem to turn up when their team is playing and then spend half the time booing their opponents. Last night GB hockey team were booed throughout their game with Brazil. The commentator said that the same thing had happened to their opponents in the basketball earlier in the day. They even booed the gymnastics and diving judges for not awarding them maximum points every time! I'm not sure they really get the Olympics.
 
Michael Phelps is just from another planet. 21 gold medals. The next closest athlete, EVER, has 9. He has more gold medals than 150 different countries have in their history. Just a unique athlete.
 
I could understand the brazilians getting pissed off with the judges in the diving. Their divers did well and got shit scores, yet if you're Chinese, you can do a belly flop and get 9.5.
I think it's jealousy because both those brazilian women had smoking hot bodies.

That and the sport he competes in makes it very easy to win multiple golds if you're the best around.

A tennis player or rower can't do the same thing.

Swimming is a joke.

Tim Vickery was on TalkSport this afternoon. He said ticket prices aren't the issue. The lowest priced tickets for the football for example are $15.00 and there are plenty of them. He reckons the low attendances were predictable because Brazilians aren't interested in sport unless they're winning. He's lived in Rio for years so he should know.

No ones come close to Redgrave either for longevity.

As I say, be the best rower in the world, or pole vaulter, or tennis player, or football player and you you can win one gold every four years (Redgrave did that for 20 years, man and boy), be the best swimmer in the world and help yourself a la Phelps and Thorpe.
