Its tricky the road race, a road race is like a one off game in football (anyone can win, some conditions suit certain teams better). Whereas a Grand Tour (Tour de France) is like a league season the best always wins. Froome would have a chance in any race, he's the best cyclist in the world at the moment, Yates is also very good.

In regards to the time trial. Usually the time trial is on a fairly flat course which wouldn't suit Froome. However, i've heard its a bit hilly this one, similar to the time trial in the Tour de France this year (which Froome won).
