They turned the screw when the criticised him for his enthusiasm for England when the national captain was as listless and uninspired as a used johnnie, in the tunnel and on the pitch. Then they blamed the defeats on him being 'pumped up' the only time I have ever seen a player anywhere criticised for that.

Little wonder that even Blues pick up on that and my worry is now the fans will turn on him on the pitch after all he has done for us.

Have some faith mate. Criticism in a forum is commonplace, criticism at matches by fans is rare and Joe is one of the most praised at the games.

Think we will find out at weekendwhat pep thinks ,willy has had a lot of game time pre season imo joe will be fine under pep once he has an option to pass too but I can see a few fuck ups until the team is more comfortable with peps way and that's not aimed at joe alone

It's true that some have heavily criticized Hart for his poor Euro performances, But I think that the overwhelming majority of City fans - myself included - value Hart highly. He's an excellent keeper and is loyal to our side.

Nonetheless, Hart has not demonstrated the ability to comfortably pass the ball on a consistent basis when under pressure. Since Pep's philosophy relies upon a keeper with these skills, I think that Hart won't be with us at season's end.

This is the concern for many City fans, not because we don't want Joe Hart, but because we watch football, know how Pep likes to play & see Joe play every week. As it stands, the two things don't fit. Something obviously has to change, & 'obviously' it has to be Joe, either adapting or leaving. That is the unavoidable truth, no matter how big a fan of JH anyone could be.

I don't understand why some folks are missing this point.

Willy hasn't exactly been Pele either. Between a rock & a hard place for selection.

Obviously there are a lot of the fans who love Hart, and are finding it a bitter pill to swallow. He's been here a decade, and has been the hero on many occasions so people don't want to see what's in front of them.

It worried me when the first chance he got, he did his usual lump up field. Surely he can be programmed to used well positioned team mates for a short ball and hopefully they will use it positively. Of course then the responsibility will rest on the team mate and it might be closer to the goal than the half way line where they opposition then get the ball. If Pep cannot coach him out of lumping it or if Hart cannot or will not stop it that it a different problem.

I hope you are right but the whole manipulation of the Sterling transfer all season long by the media did more for our rivals than it did for us.

I am happy to admit I have not seen this ter Stegen bloke. With seven league games for Barcelona and six for Germany not many else will, even the avid (non) Sky watchers.

I hardly know the other new players either but I hope they are all roaring successes but I will not praise them until I personally have seen them play a few times.

7 league games for Barcelona...

23 champions league games including the champions league final and 2 games against us in the last 16.

You must remember this....

Not sure it's a rock and a hard place mate.

If we haven't signed a keeper by the time this window shuts I think it's nailed on for Caballero.

Throughout the friendly games he's been trying to do what Pep has asked, and been applauded for it when it hasn't come off.

Hart on Sunday seemed to disregard anything that was said. I'm not having that he was told to go long 'because it's more his game'. I think it was a deliberate choice and that isn't going to help Joe in the slightest.

Willy starts on Saturday for me. Don't think it's even in question

Tend to agree with this

I guess I was meaning for us, watching them trying to pass the ball ;)

Oh it was fucking heart stopping stuff pal. No doubt about it. I looked away on more than one occasion.

Saying that, I don't think the pitch helped at all. In fact apart from Munich, which was his first game and against a side who knew how we would set up, the general state of the surfaces has been horrific and not at all conducive to the type of football we are trying to play. On the bowling greens in the PL it will be much easier to deliver when you don't have the risk of the ball doing a Tim Flowers on you.

It will also be easier against teams that sit in, as will Sunderland this weekend. There is no way they will engage our full backs like Arsenal did and press us high. That then creates another issue and is where Pep will earn his coin.

Anyway, in terms of goalkeepers, we need a new one. Period. No offence to Joe or Willy.

If it doesn't happen before the window is out then I think Willy will be a much better option.

I'm hoping Joe will get it & he's just being given time but if Pep isn't going to trust him then I hope Willy isn't to be our No 1 keeper.

Willy is nowhere near the keeper Joe is, proven Premier league keeper who makes the odd mistake like all keepers do but his get magnified by the press and supporters believe the crap they spout. Don't believe the press stance which is clearly done to unsettle Joe and get fans against him, DeGea makes more mistakes and is a show pony making basic saves look spectacular and the press big him up. Don't buy into that Joe is a top keeper and hopefully his distribution will improve under Peps guidance and players with better awareness of where to receive the ball.

Not everyone believes the media

Hart watched our defence get torn apart in the first half, where they should have scored 3 if it wasn't for poor finishing. Maybe that's why he was reticent to pass short? If the defenders are more capable on the ball there is more chance of getting away with it. Hopefully Stones will give the defence more confidence but we must expect an energetic high press from the opposition.
