No was just trying to say that just because their isn't a queue of buyers that the whole of world football doesnt think he's shit aswell.

He clearly polarises fans (and by polar i mean from ultra-shit to ok).. I'm in the ok camp, happy to have him carry on.

Actually many blues have said he is better than clichy over the years, not just me ! Certainly the evidence is there for all to see, he's scored 19 more goals than Clichy in roughly the same number of games and created far more opportunities and goals for others. I would suggest that is a major factor in judging a full back these days. So rather than coming back with moronic insults you might give us a more intelligent reply !

We don't want "ok" players though. Not that I think he's anywhere near approaching ok.

In the 2011-2012 season Clichy never put a foot wrong. Been inconsistent ever since but generally he's been a much more solid player than Kolarov who in my opinion has been bang average to say the least the past six years. Don't think either are particularly great going forward. Been a problem position for quite a while now although im hoping Tasende might make the position his own this season.

Hes a player you will always know will give a 7/10 performance (most of the time!) which cant be said for a lot of other players in our squad. His attacking play has always limited him though when compared to the best in the world.

10 goals
22 assists.

The most consistent attacking full back in the league for assists (which was his job).

Ironically stats actually present unbiased data in a way relying on our ever shrinking filter bubble doesn't.
 
Those who want him out with such passion look like being disappointed, since he's been named in our CL squad for the qualifying game, it means we must be quite confident that he isn't leaving in the next 2 weeks. Of course he could go after that, but if he plays in the qualifier, he'll be cup tied thereafter I assume, which removes our ability to sell him to another CL team, and I can't see him going to a club not in Europe because of his wages.

Kolarov has a better rate of assists which is why i said most consistent.

Realistically the Kolarov debate comes down to what do you see his primary job as:
To defend
To support the attack

I suspect my answer is different to most of this forum's, as mancini, pellegrini were.

Pep i think appreciates his good long passing, the best passer out of our Cb options over summer.

It's unfair people just want kolarov fucked off at any cost and disrespectful to a player who has done really good things for us at times.

Hand on heart i don't remember kolarov letting us down any more than some of our other players, i just think some city fans didn't take to him and he's never getting that back.
 
Saw the Kolarov thread locked in transfer forum and got giddy thinking he'd been sold...on well, cant have everything!;)

I just love the way some dismiss him so easily as not "Being a top class defender" rather than remembering what he brings to the team, he gives us a threat down the left, decent balls into the box and a goal threat on his left peg anywhere within 30 yards, not to shabby in the air and passes with intelligence rather than sideways and backwards like most defenders.

Yes there are better defenders, but as a package he`s well worth keeping an I suspect Pep will utilize him as an enforcer/sweeper in some games.
