He'll play him against Kiev..the most overworked left back in the Prem..don't think he's a mare arse.jeez the way he went in on Costa.

It was good to see Aleks smash into Costa and I think this was designed to give the younger players a lift. Great example from our Captain!

Clichy will play on Tuesday, if fit.

Sad indictment on our manager that he thinks Kolarov is a more worthy captain of our team than the legend that is Zabba

I went today with a mixed group of City and Chelsea fans. I was in the west stand quite close to the pitch, around the halfway line.

On my way home, I was thinking just how well Kolarov had fared in the first half (noticeable when he was on my side of the pitch). I think his talking to the players around him, his movement and his tackle on Costa were first class. That tackle was to let Costa know he was there backing up the kids, and it worked at least for a while.
Sorry Kolarov haters, he led fantastically today, and if he does get to play in Kiev off the back of todays performance he fully deserves it.

I have also just watched the BBC highlights on the web... What bollocks, if that is what they showed on TV, the lads did well, very well, they were let down by the experienced lads (Zabba who was as steady as could be expected in the circumstances and Alex apart)

If you read this Alex.. well done today !

We will have to agree to disagree, he was forced to do far more defensive work (as opposed to his overlapping) and did it well. He marshalled the young lads and led. No way was he ever going to be able to attempt to play his (City's) normal way. You have to take the circumstances into account and ocassionally take off any preconceived bias.

He is still the best left back at this club, and probably the best left back we have had for many years.

Personally found it odd than Kolarov was given the armband ahead of Zabaleta, but this thread reminds me why we binned the player topics.

They tend to just result in arguments and slagging off that's rarely constructive or considered. Just people ranting and trying to outdo each other in how much they dislike a player.

Came over at the end to the away fans and seemed to appreciate the support as he stayed for a while. Thought he played well second half but him and Demichelis should not play together ever again, the space between them was continuously exploited by Chelsea. So much so that it must have been a specific tactic
