Haha. Notice they got him after every other club in the world decided he wasn't worth the money. Now they're acting like he chose them over everyone.Sooooooo......for just another £40m we could have got the world's most sought after midfielder? Shite.........
He never ever left them for free, still been there since he was a nipper, it was an imaginary free loan to Juve whilst they got him used to a different league. As in a few million more ....ie double what we paid for Stones and a bit extra....within a week or 2 poohbear will have been less than stones and within a month he will be a free transfer that the rags got ...
8 signings all in before the start of the season. Think some owe Txiki an apology.
Nah. I think the most important signing for Pep has gotten the least amount of love of all our Signing.Anyone else feel this is the most important signing for pep so far. Without a player like stones then his set up and style potentially falls flat.
This Lad doesn't need bringing along. Folks are still buying into the bullshit narrative. He makes mistakes at the same rate as Kompany does. Organizes his team and orchestrateplays perhaps better than Kompany does. Not as athletic nor does he have a history of being dominant like Kompany once was, but he is a bloody stud in his own right.Good signing, especially with the manager we've got as a tutor. Funnily enough, more than ever, I would love Vinny to get fit and stay that way, to bring this lad along, and take some of the heat off him. And a propos of that, let's cut this lad some slack, eh blues? We can't stop the media doing what they will do, but we can decide what we do, on this forum, on twitter, and most importantly, (much more importantly) at the Etihad. Personally, if there's any way round it, I'd like him not to be selected for Sunderland, or at least not in the starting line-up.
I hate it when people don't say the tune it's meant to go to.
I was trying to sing that to "Bird on a Wire"
It didn't work.

Ah. Don't know it sorry.Paul Weller - Pebbles on a beach
Probably the most non football song ever though!
A fair few on here have suggested similar,i guess its that versatility that played a part in his purchase.i think in stones you have a cracking future prospect. we made a huge profit on his initial £3 million fee so i wish him all the best, personally i would have him playing in a deep lying midfield role where can collect the ball from defence and start attacks. can see him thriving in that role !

Partly coz he didn't cost what a player of his caliber would have cost
Partly coz he is injured
And partly coz we signed him so early in the window that fans didn't get enough suffering from wanting him time.
By a large margin Ilkay Gundogan is by far our most important signing. His signing pretty much made the rest have value.
All together we've had a great summer. Remove any single one of our signings from the list and we'd still have had a good Summer. But remove Gundogan and we are talking about an underwhelming summer with no addition to our soft Center. Ilkay is the signing that makes all the others worth it.
No wonder we went in for him first.
The Midfield General. The oil that lubricates the machine Pep' mind has created.
Don't sleep on Gundogan.
