Stoke post match

Im amazed noone mentioned the bardsley tackle in the first half...two footed studs raised..luckily silva got his leg out of the way....nothing mentioned on commentary except that it was a strong challenge......! He should have seen red for dangerous play
It was lucky Silva anticipated the challenge. it was a leg breaker.

Fantastic work ethic and the difference from last season is easy to see. Thought silva was back to his best today, tip toeing through the midield whilst they tried to kick fuck out of him.

Pushing up on Fernandinho to stop us playing out from the back? Well, Stoke have tried it at home and taken 4 for the trouble, so let's see what the rest come up with.

Very impressive when you consider the conditions, the fact that we played away in Romania a few days earlier and Stoke played well. Not forgetting the players currently unavailable.

It's great to see us playing with such intensity. We look so well balanced too. Completely the opposite of last year when we were so lethargic and appeared to be outnumbered wherever the ball was on the pitch.

This Pep bloke appears to know what he is doing.

If Sterling's was a pen, there will be a pen not being given in a game right now.

And again now
It was a pen, I'll leave it there.

Eyes on the player and he grabbed him, twice. As bad as obstruction, it wasn't solely for not looking at the ball.

Thankfully we won 4-1 so there's no need to bitch about the decision.

The only thing that Stoke are now missing is Rory Delap. They don't seem to have changed much since Pulis left, despite the (ahem) cultured football that Leslie says he's implemented. Same old hoof balls, same old intimidatory fouling, same old set piece play.

Having said that, a great result at a place we normally stumble at. Fortunately, I watched it on an American stream so missed the Quinn/Souness comments, but had to put up with (I think) Jim Beglin, who is clueless.

A great result at a ground we usually struggle at.

Lots of encouraging signs with Sterling and Stones especially impressive also Kelechi when he came on.

However some of the passing was terrible and the reluctance to shoot frustrating, also how is Cabellero's distribution better than Joe's but at least he does catch the ball.

Good to see Aguero getting sharper but Kevin not yet at his brilliant best.

We are going in the right direction and I am sure Pep knows what we need to work on.
