One decent season at the age of 30 or so in an obscure career and you think he's a 'top' keeper. He's a decent backup, nothing more. How many teams in the knockout stages of the CL last year do you think he'd get picked for?
On the basis of what we have seen, none, but he hasn't had much of an opportunity. He had two outstanding seasons at Malaga. And many keepers come good around his age.

Perhaps it is not right to say he's a top keeper with a reputation like Joe hart, Courtois, Cech etc, but he's still a very good keeper and he deserves a bit of respect. Done well for us. Understandably a bit shaky at times but then he must always feel under a lot of pressure when he plays. I can think of some fringe players who have really struggled when they've played the odd game.

It's so quiet! Signing a Barcelona player, one of the top 5 goalkeepers in the world and for a very respectable fee. Boom! Well done Txiki this is a great signing.
Welcome Bravo.

Anyone doubting why we're signing him watch the below, it's not a compilation just one game. It's like having another outfield player in goal:

If Guardiola thinks we need a new no 1
That will do for me

He's forgotten more about the beautiful game than us chumps on here will ever know.

Excellent signing.
The only negative is the age thing. No, not the player's age. He's a keeper, that isn't an issue.
I'm talking about the fact that 33 is considered by some on here to be "old".
I'm thirty three, dammit! Prime of life!!

Using your maxim , then I am double prime of life. Welcome Claudio to your new home

With the exception of his heavy first touch in the opening minute of that video, his distribution did indeed look excellent. My only concern is his lack of height. I surmise that facing corners could be somewhat more difficult for him here than they were in Spain.

I've been wondering about corners and why we don't put 2 or 3 players on the halfway line now pep is here . Maybe he feels he carnt rely on willy to do this but with bravo soon to be in could we possibly see this from opposition corners . Giving him more room in the box and not to be under pressure as much due to the opposition leaving players back from our set up
