Claudio Bravo

Bless. I wish Joe well but don't believe the hype. None of the players you idolise feel the same way towards you or the club you support. They care about their own career and nothing more. If Joe could choose between staying as No1 and us winning the odd trophy without Pep or Pep being here and him leaving but us winning the CL, he'd choose to stay and be number 1 all day long (and who'd blame him?). But the fans and the players hopes and dreams of success for the club are only aligned for the same amount of time as they are getting picked to play for the starting 11.

Sorry if that bursts your bubble.

And I'm not in the least bit bitter. I'm over the moon, we've just improved our team and I hope Joe goes on somewhere great and enjoys a long a prosperous career and has a happy life with his loving wife.

I see what you've done there!!

Fuck, Stony beat me to it.

I just can't get to feel sorry for Joe
He's known for an awful long time that Guardiola is coming and what he wants from his keepers, his distribution and footwork have not improved one iota and appear not to have been significantly worked on

Been saying this all along, smacks of arrogance to me and shows his attitude isn't right.

There's probably the length of a thumbnail in height between him and Iker Casillas. I wouldn't be unduly worried.

I'm not saying we have anything to worry about but he's 1.85m to put that into perspective he's also around the same height as Ospina(1.83m). The average height for goalkeepers as of may 2015 was 1.91m. Thibaut Courtois is 1.99m Joe Hart, Petr Cech and Wojciech Szczesny are all 1.96m tall, De Gae is 1.92m. He could struggle against tall powerful forwards on corners and crosses which we have in the Prem as apposed to La Liga but he's also a battler so he may not, it has been suggested by some Barca fans corners are not a strong point though(neither were they Joe's IMO). If the defence does it's job he wont have to be exceptional in this area.

My only worry is that fans won't warm to Bravo just because he's not Hart. All of Hart's mistakes will be forgotten and every mistake Bravo makes will be amplified by the media and fans, every good thing he does ignored. Not saying this will definitely happen but I wouldn't be surprised.
It may not fall into some people's ideas, but a couple of brave saves were he gets clattered, or an interaction with the south stand whilst the balls up the pitch for 35 minutes a game and he'll be welcomed and loved imo. People underestimate the need for being more than just an outstanding stat collector.

Whats 1.85m in old money?
About 6ft, not exactly short but below the premier league average of 6ft3. Just the Andy Carol and Ibrahimovic types we might need to guard against, shame Mangala doesn't have technical skills because physically he could do that job against any player we needed to.

Unless his arms are 3 inches long, he should be fine.

Erm I don't think it's just about being able to reach to the top of his head while standing mate haha, it's the physicality of it. Like I said they weren't one of Joe's strong points either(for different reasons IMO) and if the defence do their job(and perhaps the ref) it will be less of an issue. I also think due to more possession and control of the game he'll have less saves to make along with more involvement in the buildups.

In fact while we are on the subject of corners are our defenders still allowed to block players from impeding the keeper or will there be more freekicks for that too? Can't imagine they changed the rules just to make it easier for the strikers to have their way.
