Aguero banned for three games (updated)

"Sergio Aguero has been charged for an alleged act of violent conduct which was not seen by the match officials but caught on video.

"The Manchester City forward was involved in an incident with West Ham United’s Winston Reid in the 76th minute of the game on Sunday (28 August 2016).

"He has until 6pm on Wednesday 31 August to reply.

"Off the ball incidents which are not seen at the time by the match officials are referred to a panel of three former elite match officials.

"Each panel member will review the video footage independently of one another to determine whether they consider it a sending-off offence.

"For retrospective action to be taken, and an FA charge to follow, the decision of the panel must be unanimous."

An "Off the ball incident not seen by the referee".

Now I'm not a lawyer, but if this went to court, surely it would get thrown out on that point alone?

The incident was on the ball and was very clearly seen by the match official.

It's clear he's lied because he wants to avoid a media frenzy because it's Manchester United.

I thought this kind of shit was going to end when Fergie retired but I guess not.

We shouldn't be that surprised. Certain players get away with violent conduct week in and week out but when it comes to a City player it's a different story. Not paranoia - fact. And the ref needs demoting. If he's not seen something 4 feet from his face that is awful- can't believe he's admitted it!
Aguero shouldn't have done what he did but if he gets a ban then so should Costs and Fellaini - to name but two.

That's totally bollocks Andrex Marriner was looking straight at it

Give over mate, it's got nothing to do with United, take the tin foil hat off.

Not worried that Kun is missing, in Pep we trust. However, Marriner shouldn't be allowed to ref one of our games again!

This isn't incompetent, it's fucking lies.

IF THE RAGS WIN IT MEANS FUCK ALL, SHOWER O CUNTS!

SHOWS WHAT WE ARE UP AGAINST THIS SEASON

DECISIONS LIKE THIS WILL LEAD TO VIOLENCE AT THE DERBY MATCH - VERY STUPID INDEED

No it really does. The media pressure is purported by swathes of rag journalists from around the country. When the FA have Sky and the BBC pushing it strongly they're going to give into he pressure.

Why isn't it pushed in the headlines when Fellaini is always at it?

FA have announced the ex refereeing panel. Selected by David Gill:

G.Poll
C.Foy
H.Webb
They'll probably claim that Piss Can refereed a school match back in 1923 and this qualifies him as being an ex-referee.

yup i agree

quinn should be removed from the hall of fame ( I feel that strongly about his consistent bias and negativity towards us and its not just about that one incident)......the officials at city should really start looking into this and at least doing something within the club about people like him......
Yes I fully agree with you the guy is a disgrace and should not be made welcome in the blue half of Manchester not that that it likely to bother the fucker one little bit

HTF is it bollox. If Kun hadn't done it, this thread wouldn't exist. Take the blues off.

im not saying that run didnt do it

I'm saying that its a complete and utter lie that the ref didn't see it.......if he didn't see that then he shouldn't be refereeing. The situation is actually that he did see it and either called it wrong and won't admit it.....or he didn't thing it merited anything at the time....which means he is in disagrement with all the pundits but won't say it......he is a coward either way so uses the get out clause "i didn't see it" instead of saying "i saw it but now looking back at it on reflection i should have given him a red" or i saw it at the time and my judgement was that it was just a coming together/josslteing for the ball" or something like that......

but to say that "he didn't see it"...you have to call his professional capability into question on that as he was 5 yes away looking directly at the players with no-one in his way

Poor from the player, referee, the FA and a media intent on pushing an agenda.

They pushed nothing, SKY and the BBC review these incidents fairly and would have done had it been Rooney or Costa. It's just been spoken about more because Aguero isn't really known to do things like this.
If this was Balotelli back in his City day's we would all be calling him an idiot, but because it's Aguero it's been treated as some sort of vendetta or conspiracy.

I see so every foul that is missed by the ref results in an FA charge does it? There are several examples already this season.
Not sure what your point is.

I responded to a poster who claimed my post was bollox because I said there was only one person to blame (and I maintain that)

I also maintain that if Kun had not swung his elbow, this particular thread wouldn't exist

If you feel either of my points are wrong, then fine

i wonder if the moment rooney argues with the ref this weekend will he be given a yellow??????

Think the brown envelope has already landed on Clattenbergs door mat as he is probably gonna get the derby game
