City v Everton post match

Yeh but we won't play that team and formation against teams that are going to pressure us. We had effectively 3 defensive players plus fern and reduced them to 2 chances. Couldn't understand why nolito wasn't starting but we were brilliant yesterday. We just didn't win. It happens. Still top with Southampton at home next. Someone is in for a roasting soon.

I used to think this in the 'old' days - more wishful thinking than conviction, and the same idea is often rolling round my head climbing the spiral! Could have been yesterday. People have been drooling about the quality of football we're playing but it is the result and points that matter. City fans would have been a lot happier for just one of the pens to go in or Lukaku's shot to have hit a post! Doesn't matter how fantastic the football is if it only delivers a single point. Oppo teams will be delighted if we play galactico football and allow them a goal with possibly their only chance.

A few points.

I could have put a marker pen on where is the ball going on both penalties. 9 times out of 10 we hit it side foot to the goalies left side perfect height. Second time we have missed two pens in a season. It's too obvious where the ball is going,

Get in the box please. We made lots of good runs down the channels and round the box and there are just not players in the box. When teams are playing 8 at the back we should put two up front earlier.

It looked like jack Russell's versus Rottweilers at times . They looked miles bigger than us. We must be the smallest team in the prem.

However we played some lovely football yesterday and am still positive, we just got no luck at all. I hate Everton.

Just watched MOTD and it's interesting to compare how ex-players and journalists react to our performance. For the ex-players, it's an ackowledgement that we are playing incredible fotball and that that normally means victory. For the journalists, it's three games without a win, a mini-wobble, and teams finding ways to thwart us.

We've won zero out of 3, barca next...

And we'll probably lose that game and we are STILL in great shape. We have the best owners, the best manager and coaching staff and the best players in the league. And we are playing great football.

City supporters who aren't happy with this situation (I don't mean you, by the way) need to think if this is the right sport for them.

As another positive kompany left the field at the final whistle rather than before with a new injury. I know he did not start but when was last time that happened?

Was pleased with the performance yesterday. On another day that level of play ends in a 4-1 win. Couldn't understand Kompany being thrown up front though. Looked the sort of thing Pearce would have done.

I agree with this and it was very evident last Season that we may have the artistry but not the physicality/height .
In 2011/12 when we were in the Tunnel we towered over the opposition dominating them physically and mentally.

I thought we played very well, but something is wrong right now with that team. Gundogan needs time to bed in and looks individually good, but we definitely look a better team with Silva in a deeper role next to Fernandinho rather than Gundogan.

Sane looked absolutely excellent yesterday and I thought taking him off was a mistake, unless Pep is saving him for Barca.

We are playing some incredible football but it's clearly not the finished article yet.

And Clichy should hang his head in shame over the way Lukaku had his way with him. That was an embarrassing attempt to cover. It's high time we play Angelino & Maffeo and see how they fare, because it cant be any worse than our current full back performances.

Cannot comprehend the negativity here.

Our new manager has only been here for just over 3 months. There has been the Euros, summer holidays & 2 international breaks in this period. Plus of course our usual injuries.

Additionally he has had to assess the capabilities of ALL the players & how they could fit into his philosophy. Some have gone & others come in. All takes time.

So just how really bad are we ? Top of Premier League - doing OK in champs league - won at the swamp - still in League Cup.

The football we played yesterday was FANTASTIC at times, just needed a bit of good fortune. Some people dont know a good thing even when it hits them in the face.

Good performance but very frustrating. Poor penalties; that's something our penalty takers need to address. Two great saves from what would have been match winning shots from Aguero and DeBruyne gave them their point. Silva was back to his best and Sane did some good stuff. DeBruyne less effective when playing wide.

After watching the game again, we really did play some beautiful football yesterday. Makes it even more frustrating that we couldnt kill off the game and get the 3 points but from a performance standpoint it was lovely to watch. Just need to have that killer instinct in front of goal....

It'll come mate, the international break disrupts the rhythm and momentum, once we get into our stride properly we'll be flying, even pep said he was surprised by the start we made. We're playing some beautiful stuff and on any other given day we'd have been out of sight.

We Played exceptional until the final pass. Not only did we have over 70% possession we allowed Everton close to Fuck all in terms of chances. Which is even better considering who they've got in charge and the style he likes to play. Typical that they'd score with there only chance. criminal to miss two penalties. We haven't had a good penalty taker since Mario

In all fairness despite his recent ****ish behaviour I do believe Mr Toure is an excellent penalty taker, I also believe he hasn't missed one but I will concede I didn't check this :)

I see it as the there keeper having a blinder, yes its frustrating but at times these things happen.
For me personally ill be happier if we sign a couple more defenders as i feel that's our biggest weakness.

Sergio is shit at pens never confident when he steps up .

Nacho should of taken the 1st he has ice in his veins
