Turnstiles Broke! Massives Queues Outside The Ground

No matter what difficulties you experienced on matchdays years ago I will just say this as City fan who loves good football and had to watch crap for so many years.

I assume the reason most of us go to a football match is to watch and support our favourite team play FOOTBALL.....and your team right now is playing the BEST football it has ever played and, most probably, it will only get better in the coming years.
Yup...and more expensive.

yes to get you to spend more fucking money on the overpriced fizzy piss and the celebrity fucking pies! how about before you piss about putting the berlin fucking wall up you do a bit of forward planning and put in more turnstiles to let the masses in then then you can start your building works for the prawn sandwich brigade. oh and i got there at 2:30 the same time ive been getting there since we moved and never had a problem like saturday so don't be giving that shit out
Christ, you need a cigarette or something pal.

The point about the wall in CBL1 is completely different to the turnstiles. There are the same amount of turnstiles either side of that section so it's not necessarily the issue. They think there was a power cut or something power related that obviously caused the issue (they should have some form of backup power/generators in this case). So you have been going to the new ground for years and getting in 30 mins before-hand, great. you've experienced a problem once in all those years. It's annoying but surely doesn't warrant your sheer outrage? Fuck ups happen.

If you have an ounce of will power then surely not spending 'more fucking money' isn't that hard? Bring a packed lunch or eat at another point in the day? Me and you are obviously different in our approach to going to the games, which is fine, but there are a few people on this forum (not necessarily you) who want to complain about everything related to the club at the minute.

Its this exactly
The bar staff are clueless and slow, and the extra 1500 seats put in along CB1 were not accompanied with increased facilities.
Although some dicks from level 2 will try and tell you everything is as it always was, which is fantastic

Listen dickhead leave it it out now. The bar staff are young kids doing there best to earn a few quid. Someone's son or daughter. - what do you expect Mensa candidates. Get a bloody grip. It is not life and death - if it is so bad stop going.

Therefore not being able to get in for kick off is an issue - but if you arrive an hour early to be safe you don't want to wait there doing fuck all. They used to show the lunch time kick offs at one point.

Sometimes in life things go wrong it's not a regular occurrence.

It was clear from the Bournemouth game there was a problem due to the inadequate numbers of people doing the searches, and the wall left little option for alternative turnstiles, so the turnstile fault led to chaos. I predicted there could be problems a couple of days before, but the club had no contingency plan for one turnstile having a temporary fault. Is that just myopia or poor customer service?

I don't buy food or drink in the ground anymore, just not worth the time. And I used to love a pint and a pie beforehand or half time.

The club can do something about it or not, it is up to them how much money they want to make, but yes buying things at the ground is a pain of queues, and then just when you get there they have run out of foot long sausages!

Are you actually a football fan or just a professional moaner.....Jesus Christ.

I dont know why they stopped showing the early kick offs. Presumably some sort of contractual issue with Sky/BT? It's by far my most preferred option as far as pre match entertainment is concerned.

One of my most enjoyable experiences as a City fan was watching the second half of Liverpool v Chelsea on the concourse at Palace in 2014.

How has anyone one Level 3 or Level 2 been affected this season in any way shape or form - that is 32,000 people.? please tell me what has got worse for those 32,000 people this season? What has changed in those areas that has made things worse?

The club have also increased the food and drink offering outside hugely in recent years via City Square and the food stalls.

Your block has been affected temporarily. That is it.
Not worse East level 1 either, not always great, but not worse.

I'm in level 2 and the bar queues are ridiculous. I don't bother with any food or drink in the ground these days.

Last time I used a bar, the guy in front of me asked for a packet of cheese and onion crisps. The woman serving went over to the crisps and picked up each flavour they had and even then had to ask for help choosing the right flavour.

Utter shambles

thansk - so that is 32,000 plus say 10,000 on the East stand - that is 42,000 people as opposed to a couple where i cant see anything that has changed.

Thats bull shit mate i get to the ground the same time as i have done since we moved here and never missed kick off like i did on saturday missed 11 and a half mins of the match! money grapping cnuts making the matchday shitter and shitter for the everyday fan! why wasn't this all done in the close season?!
Not bull shit at all, slightly longer on Saturday for sure but have been large queues at p all season, and only this season due to the increased security checks

It is just something we may have to get used to, just as we have to leave plenty of time for airport security these days, since Paris we may need a new mind set and get into the stadium earlier. Increased security isn't going away, in fact another incident could make it worse, as I dont think the checks are that thorough. The club may get better at it given time as well but we arent going back to the old days.

heaven forbid the unthinkable happens , the outcry if the club had no checks,so which is it going to be? i for one accept them as modern life,

Good post, the security is there for our safety, so whether you agree with it or not, its something that you are going to have to accept, as you probably have accepted it at our airports. If they don't do it, there will be an outcry if there is an incident inside a ground.

You're also right that its currently not very effective, I was patted down on Saturday, and if I'd been carrying a rocket launcher, the guy wouldn't have found it.

It's all that marching in the army, mate.
Must be. A couple of times I've given lifts to people, and it fucking kills me to walk as slow as they do. Or, it could be that I'm just that excited to get to the ground to get body searched.....
