Barca v City Post Match Thread

amateur night , too many basic errors Barca didnt have to create anything we handed their goals on a plate because up to 60 minutes we were the better side then Bravo steps up with his idiotic cock up , nearly every goal we have concede this season has been from our mistakes , after the 1st ten games we didnt miss Vinnie now we need him fully fit to steady the ship , Barca won by 4 goals and didnt get out of 2nd gear , having said that , if we play like we did for the 1st sixty minutes tonight and actually take our chances we are capable of reversing this scoreline. Looks like 2nd place in the group and Bayern or Madrid in the next round then

Fucking joking surely. It's the fact that he is not working with what he has got. And anyway subsequent to the summer signings there is absolutely no team in the PL with a squad as good as ours. United and Liverpool miles off. Spurs have an excellent manager but how many of their players would you want. Arsenal are talented as always. We should walk the PL and if we don't then it will be Pep's intransigence that is responsible.

If you don't succeed you fail, the investment we have made means we cannot go 3 seasons without winning the league, we have already underperformed And if you have the best manager and this squad then 4th place and the Mickey Mouse cup is not good enough

Take a look at the 4th, that was the worst of the lot where Otamendi was concerned. Chased Neymar, Benny Hill style for 80 yards then thought "fuck this, crack on Neymar".

It really feels like it though. If we're honest with ourselves, Barca didn't even break sweat today.

If we are going to play this high pressing high line game, then we need to put the ball in the back of the net when the chances come. So what sense is there is not playing one of the best players in the world in doing just that? That's not genius, that's just plain stupid.

For me we've been mentally weak for 3-4 years. Only have to look at the number of points we've achieved when in losing positions away from home. Truly shocking with the talent and money spent.
 
Well that was just a nightmare of mistakes. Doesn't feel as bad as some losses.
Thought we were at least matching them, probably the better side. Fernandinho slipped, not the only to slip and just unlucky. Everything was still alright; Gündoğan showed some magic, Stones had a great chance, then unfortunately Bravo made the worst mistake of all. I still highly rate him but messed up the pass and just moment of madness to hand-ball it. Went further downhill, KDB lost the ball in a costly position, Ilkay played them in, Kolarov wild tackle for penalty and Stones got turned for the last. All the players were having good games apart from those crazy moments. Well done Willy for saving a shot and a pen and we're still good in the group. Hope Zaba's ok though.
 
Not to sure that I buy the we were good tonight but made to many mistakes. There were some aspects of our play that was good and we looked reasonable at times. But we didn't create huge numbers of chances against what in all honesty was a fairly ropy defense.
No real complaints about our tactics but we lacked finesse in the final third and composure in our own penalty box, our defending was atrocious at times.
Apart from their ability to finish clinically I thought Barca were pretty poor tonight.
 
I don't see any team present the opposition with as many clear cut chances as City
V the lesser teams you might get away with it like we did v Swansea and Sunderland but v the 2 decent sides we've played we haven't and we've lost both
Same will happen v Liverpool and Arsenal if we don't stop fucking about with it ( yes I called it that cos that's what we look like we are doing ) at the back till we get better players there
Defenders on a hole aren't your best players on the ball so why base your system on them having more of the ball, seems mad, forget it till we've got the players please
