United post-match thread

well if you aint happy what are you going to do.....?

Me personally? Not a lot because I'm not being paid thousands to manage the team or play for them. I'd like to think we'd have a plan B though and not constantly play like we are 3-0 up when we are losing. We have gone behind 6 times now and not won once.....

The fact that United played their full strength team tonight, and also against Fenerbache and Chelsea, with very little rotation, and no youngsters blooded by Mourinho, says a great deal more about them then about us. He was under way more pressure to win, and only thought about the here and now. Guardiola saw the bigger picture, and I'm glad he held his nerve and gave Maffeo and Garcia full 90 minutes in a derby at OT, in his supposed "crisis". You can't keep playing a full strength team for every game, eventually it will bite you. Mourinho won't give youngsters an opportunity, Rashford and Mensah, were already made first teamers by Van Gaal, so they don't count, his philosophy is win or nothing, and it showed tonight. We're lucky to have someone like Guardiola managing us, who puts the interests of the team first, not himself like Mourinho, and I 100% believe he will be proven right. We're obviously not the finished article, but we're definitely going in the right direction.

cause we have a history of overplaying players in games like this and losing them to injury (I'm sure he detail of this want in peps thinking but the basic logic behind it would have been)

KDB last year
Negrado a few years back
Silva at some point as well (cant remember the game)
Kompany

we have to prioritise the games...pep has said as much and he also has to use his squad....yes some of those we know aren't good enough but those same players just more than held their own vs utds first team..

Kdb was in a fucking semi, as was negredo I'd hardly say that's overplaying they're big important games. Players get injured tough shit. My point was why have them on the bench, why bring them on? If we scored its another 30 mins extra time on top of what they already played so it contradicts the point in not starting them?

Not been ahead in a game for over a month. Everyone knows how to nullify our attack and we keep getting caught on the break. Rashford should have scored as well. Not seen a replay but should it definitely have been a penalty in the first minute? Looked like it from where I was.

If these players can't play the way Pep wants them to, what's the next move? Get an entire new squad in, wait until they do get it or change tactics?

All that amazing stuff and we didn't muster a shot on target. I thought football was about scoring goals and trying not to concede them ;)
then you haven't listened to a thing pep has said since he cam here....its about playing in a certain way and establishing this from the under 9's to the first team. Pep would prefer to lose playing good football than win going about it the leicester/utd way of all out defence.

I get the feeling from Khaldoons comments in the past that thats exactly what he (and the Skeik by default) want as well.

Pep is here to establish a way of playing and develop the clubs way of playing. Of course winning things is important but we hope that comes in time not after 15 competitive games (or so!)

Playing the reserves guaranteed a defeat tonight but it doesn't guarantee us a win on Saturday. Tonight could have been a real confidence booster for the team while putting severe pressure on the rags and the eye gouger. I appreciate we don't want to be bogged down with fixtures but realistically we are now left with the League and FA cup for potential silverware. Throwing a Derby is not ok in my book.

Maybe if we stopped loaning our best squad players out we might have a chance then in games like this. We fucking pay for them to play for other clubs, nasri, hart, Denayor, Roberts, that Ukrainian bloke we signed in the summer. Fuckinell we even have yaya at home watching youporn for 300 a week. We have a big squad we just loan them all out. Our squad is big enough we just don't keep them happy.

Because you are talking about hindsight. What IF the team out there had won, then we don't need Aguero.

Still trying to get my head round the notion that a competitive match against our biggest rivals, which would get us into a cup quarter final, is somehow less important than a routine league match against West Bromwich.
Because the League is the bread and butter and we have not won it for a while so it might just be a priority

Barca and Bayern are our biggest rivals now mate. Don't give these ****s the satisfaction of believing they matter.

The least arsed I've been about a derby defeat ever.

The EFL is only significant when you reach the semi-final and you generally reach that point having played your second string.

Players needed game time and I rather it was in what I at least consider to be an insignificant competition.

Caballero did well I thought and needed game time. Maffeo was arguably the best player on the pitch. Garcia started well but faded, would like to see him alongside anyone other than Fernando.

Sane still to impress but sure he'll come good.

Iheanacho should have scored in the first minute, it was also a clear penalty on Garcia too. 2 fouls in the lead up to their goal too shiws me their strongest XI is very strong all.

Dean had a fucking shocker.
