Watch Breitling or Omega

Pointless devices now that everyone has a phone in their pocket.

They have become the make equivalent of what ludicrously expensive handbags are to women: owned in the hope that people notice them and think it 'says something about them', more than for any actual real purpose.

Fair play to the producers though. That something so mundane as telling the time has been so successfully branded on people's mind as a status symbol is testament to the power of marketing.

Pretty much. Most I ever spent was £175 on an Ellesse and I think that was too much.

My next watch will be a Rolex Daytona.. just convincing the boss lady that they are an investment... I Believe they are if you can beat the waiting lists

A work colleague of mine got the stainless steel one last year (after waiting for over a year) and doubled his money on it straight away

A lad in my son's sixth form bought and sold high quality watches. He was driving a new BMW before he even left school.

Don't get it. Servicing for fucking watches????

There's loads of decent looking watches you can just stick a new battery in or get for £15 if you want one and you'll be able to change it often too if you get bored of it.

In a year or two everyone will be wearing phones on their wrists/forearm, so even less of a need.

Breitling's are fucking hideous aesthetically

Out of the two it's Omega all the way

I am a bit of a watch geek I admit

Currently got a 1960 7002 manual wind watch on my wrist from a small Swiss watchmakers called..wait for it

I have several high end watches..but my passion is Vintage Heuers (pre tag)

This is my fave that I own (granted not everyone's cup of tea)

A tidy craic!

My day to day watch is an Eco Drive.... Bought my eldest the Skyhawk Titanium for his 21st... the youngest wanted a plainer version so we got him an Eco Drive dress watch for his... I would recommend these watches to anybody and my Tag has sat in the box since I got it... never needs batteries, changes time zone with a couple of button presses, awesome

stunning, they must be worth a few quid now !!

Both atrocious-

Breitling should be accompanied with a pair of mahogany rockport

Omega is like a persons first magic kit... You'll like it but not a lot (:

Get yourself a panerai luminor, great starter watch, a standard Rolex sub for day to day use..
