Yup. If I'd have known I would have thought twice about buying it. But it was 22 years ago (before I had a mobile) and i've only had 2 batteries and services over that time.

One point I'd make is that when I took it in, the jeweller said words to the effect of "they don't make 'em like that any more" and reckoned that the spec has diminished over time so I'm not sure about buying one now. Then again, he may just have been bullshitting me.
