Boro fan in family stand

I agree Bill but if they read some of the threads on here about how 'bad' our team is, how much rubbish we have to put up with etc., etc., etc., would you want to attend the game? ;-)
good point Sheila. I must say I am backing off a bit until I see an improvement, i'm not paying good money to see us put out a reserve side every week.

Ric, just take comfort in the fact that the gloating smoggie probably woke up this morning and shed a tear that he actually has to live in that hovel.

all joking aside, the appearance of opposition fans in our end is becoming an issue. it used to be now and again and generally they would be respectfull, which in itself i had no problem with but its virtually every game now, and many of them have no idea how to behave. every european game it happens, BMG fans get a dishonorable mention. Everton at home there were loads, boro as discussed in this thread. The barca game the other night there were loads , not even hiding it loads of barca shirts on show, but the ones I came into contact with kept themselves to themselves. The club has a written policy that the home end is the home end and opposition fans will be ejected, but this never happens, have even seen stewards just telling them to cover up their shirts on the way in.
I have considered contacting the club, but have no Idea who to speak to or even if would be worth bringing it up.

How many City when we are away go in the home end

i would have no idea, quite a few I would guess, personally if i go to an away I will go in the away end or not at all. I think my issue is that if Im at a home game I dont see it as unreasonable to expect to be sat with city fans, and where im sat in 142 away fans are in there every virtually every game.

Having been guilty of numerous home end incursions through the 80s 90s and beyond, and infact in some of the more apparently inhospitable places including the Old Den, The Swamp, and several times at Stamford Bridge all unscathed I would suggest a little bit of common sense is all that is required....it doesnt sound like this Boro fan had very much, and frankly from what I read on here deserved a hiding.

At the end of the day its a game of football and by and large visiting supporters in the home area should not be an issue if they and indeed the home supporters simply show a bit of respect for each other.

Funny thing is even back when few games passed without some hostilities taking place, it was easy enough to bump into opposing fans who were more interested in a few beers and a laugh, met some good people from all over the place.

It's embarrassing the amount who leave early nowadays.

Most no doubt hear the equaliser, do not know how it happened but choose to slag anyone they feel

I have emailed the club about this and quoted their T&Cs to them which states something like "only home fans can purchase tickets in the home stands, away fans must only buy tickets in the away section" and they don't care and put the blame at sites where you can buy tickets or at UEFA who demand seats around the ground.

I must admit I've been to Sheff Weds, Bolton and the Rags away all in their home sections but i sat on my hands all game and blended in as best i could. But fans are openly celebrating and goading the City fans when they come to the Etihad (worst for it were Everton in the League Cup semi last season) - if i acted like that at any other ground i'd expect to get about a dozen digs in the head and i wouldn't have a complaint about it if i did as it would be my fault and fully deserved.

We're the worst in the league for leaving early. People were leaving from the 77th minute on Saturday, there were a number leaving against Barcelona on about 82 minutes. It's as bizarre to me as watching the players pretend to be injured, i just don't understand it (obviously some will need to leave early for some reason or another but not the amount of our fanbase that do, it's just a habit our fans have got into as if it's the 'done; thing).

Not sure how that term is enforceable in any consistent way. There's plenty of opposition fans in the corporate sections, for example. It's absurd, in fact.

It doesn't matter which away fans are in the family stand or any part of the Etithad, they should just learn to keep their mouths shut if and when there team scores, and then everything would be alright. I have gone to watch City away, in the home fans part of the ground and just acted like a neutral and clapped when both the home and city scored. By doing this I avoid any confrontation and always left 2/3 minutes from the end of the game.

Obviously I'd never advocate physical violence towards an opposition fan. And particularly not in the family stand, of all places. I'm just saying that I wouldn't have shed a tear if that cocky Middlesbrough twat in the front rows got banjoed on his way out.

Nah, that would just lead to a blue getting banned, better to catch them outside the stadium and kick the fuck out of them.
