Donald Trump

It's amazing how Obama escapes such a bad rap. He is ultimately responsible for the two candidates which contested the race.

I am happy The Donald got over the line, simply because it has got to the stage where one side of the political spectrum seemingly has the exclusive domain rights to being right on everything.

The result is no surprise, it had all the hallmarks of Brexit for months.

As for the assertion that it was just the "uneducated white voting mass" that got this result, it would seem the "uneducated black voting mass" decided they didn't have the same amount of motivation to vote as they did for Obama, which only highlights how America is still plagued by racial divides.

42 per cent of Independent women voters also came out for Trump.

81 per cent from the White Evangelical vote (loons)

He even got 29 per cent of the Hispanic vote, which is huge.

Roll on that Brexit £10billion a year trade deal, Donald. I quite fancy some of your Rib eye and muscle cars!

Ronald Reagan was belittled in the UK as a Joke in 1981. He fixed the US economy and ended the cold war and eventually(after he left office) the berlin wall came down and the USSR collapsed.

Being a great cue card reader doesn't constitute being a visionary....

The cowboy was fortunate that one of the great leaders of the 21st century happened to be in office, he had fuck all to do with ending the Cold War, Gorbachev, to this day, is the reason the USSR fell, to even attribute it to Regan is laughable!

I went to bed after you posted that this would happen last night, nah, never in a month of.

Did Gorbachev teleport forward into a new century to create this revisionism, then ;)

Russia ran out of Roubles and the wall came down. Game over.

Well someone's in for a VERY nasty surprise.

Either it's going to be all the low-paid, working class people who are bizarrely expecting an ultra right-wing president to do good things for the poor and social welfare etc. i.e.. HAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHA.

Or it's going to be the right wing white Republicans who find they have just elected a Democrat.

But which will it be? My money is on the former.

I don't know about uneducated but older white people on mass voted for Trump.

The ethnic minority vote for Hillary didn't materialise. She simply wasn't the right candidate.

I usually stay away from politics, but fell the need to voice my opinion somewhere since this election was such a monumental historical event in the history of our country. As many of you guys know, I'm an American. I live (right outside) in DC. I'm completely shocked. Like many Americans, I honestly didn't think in a million years he'd win.

Waking up this morning after about 2 hours of sleep I'm not sure how to feel. Outrage, embarrassment, shock, disbelief as well as many other confusing emotions.

I am not a huge Clinton supporter, however I saw her as the less of two levels and voted for her. What I find so strange about this election is of the hundreds and hundreds of people I know I only know a handful of Trump supporters. I live in one of the most educated parts of the US, so I suppose that explains it, but I still find it shocking the election turned out the way it did. He not only won the electoral votes but the popular vote as well.

I'm a politically moderate, naturalized citizen, white, male, heterosexual, non-Islamic, middle class, millennial, and a small business owner. I will not have to worry about being deported, I will not have to worry about any of my civil rights being taken away. My day to day life will not be hugely effected by this election yet, I feel this country has made a huge mistake in electing Trump. How people could elect someone with so much hate and such an ugly personality baffles me.

I hope for the sake of the country that many of the ideas and platforms of his campaign were to provoke discussion and buzz around his candidacy. I'm hoping he will not actually be as radical of a president as he presented himself as a candidate. And honestly, I think he will tone the crazy stuff down a bit when it comes down to it.

As disappointing as it is that Trump has been elected I do hope and believe some positives will come from it. Personally, I think the American dual party political system is dogmatic and in need of an overhaul. Not saying it will happen overnight (or at all) but hopefully this will serve as a catalyst for change as people realize that we set ourselves up to choose from two candidates that the vast majority of people did not want either to be president.

For me this is strange, somewhat depressing day. I'm trying to remain positive, hoping Trump will help the economy as he is undeniably a great businessman.

However, the main emotion I'm feeling at the moment (besides shock) is embarrassing that our country chose such a heartless egomaniac to lead our country.

Thanks for letting me rant.

Should the world reject the result of the US elections and boycott the US as they did when Hamas won the Palestinian elections? Or should they instigate a military coup to overthrow Trump as previously happened in Egypt, Turkey and Algeria when the people of those countries elected Islamic political parties to power? Or should the international community invade the US to protect democracy?

Possibly. She also isn't black, so the added motivation was seemingly not there?

We can't overstate what a huge historical factor it was for the chance to elect America's first black president?

In addition, Hillary has actually fared even worse if you think she had an even bigger voting block to appeal to with the chance to become America's first female president.
