Guys I think I'm going to have to close the build down; I really don't want to do this but the pressure on piracy in the whole of Europe is getting worse and I'm not sure I feel like I can safely continue supporting this build anymore.

We had new legislation in the UK brought in yesterday to force isp's to monitor and log people's traffic for a year, streaming is becoming a bigger target nowadays for anti piracy groups and I feel like now is a good time to get out.

It's been a real pleasure guys and I have really enjoyed helping you all out, I will still be on the bluemoon forum posting my nonsensical opinions about football but as of now the bluemoon build is dead :(

I've literally just uninstalled a build and installed bluemoon only to bloody read this now lol.
 
Thanks for all your efforts @aguerrrroooooooooooo they have been well received by everyone barring as you note anti piracy/lea. It is a good time to get out and i can't go into full detail here but yesterday a large game tracker and what.cd (music legend tracker) went down. The latter went due to a raid and the recent url blocklist was enforced to. Knowing this area pretty well i would say lea is set for an outright war with filesharing soon. The attacks are coming from everywhere now and much more frequently indicating to me a more concerted effort that is so far having results for copyright holders. A huge ukranian site went down that does vod, 2 x dutch sites and a romanian one all in the last week also.

That geordie fella is gonna get fucked, no way in hell is getting away with that seeing how they are smashing piracy atm, it will embolden them imo absolutely.

I know it is getting bad when guys of long standing trackers are pm'ing me asking if i will sell them leech slots on ftp servers. If it carries on i will have to make one for them as i ain't letting nobody on mine or i'll end up not being so bloody smug :-D

A chap of my network just pm'd asking if this new law exposes them on my network...NO, you are using a different protocol to http/s which is what the law specifically states. You simply carry on as usual with the system.

Yup what CD did to a degree have an influence on my decision; if a site of that stature can go down then my little build is nothing really, looks like you were right after all pal; piracy is in for a rough ride in the years to come I think matey :(

We need something more resilient to takedowns to stop this happening; perhaps trackers based on i2p maybe?

I didn't want to be right, it was from my reasonably unique view point i could see a 'shift' if you can call it that. Sites were being busted and this time as opposed to mid 2k's had a better grasp of laws they could use without it becoming a mess and the judge saying fuck it go home. The consistency of hits and regularity increased and nothing was popping back, no more hydra's heads. Scene was locking down more and cutting away from shitty dumps that served p2p sites and rogue traders were banned from sites. The scene had a bit of a spring clean you could say and tightened their door bolts. I can assure you now when IPT,SCC,GFT,TL,HDB,PTP etc go you really won't see the hydra's head effect at all and that saddens me a bit.

I won't be going anywhere though, i even have scenebytes site backed up which i could always open on a super private scale should it ever get that bad that bm users needed it. I don't even know how many scene ftp's i am on so good luck to the feds sorting it, i would be grateful for the help organizing them tbh :-D

Is the server working Guy? Tried getting on the other day and it wouldn't load.

We go back to the old ways, underground. The scene will survive rather easily due to it's robust nature and if it really came to ultra extremes i know enough .us cappers to fulfill my networks needs anyway on a 121 basis. For example ex dimension capper records 3 shows a night and ex ctu member does 3 for me, i do all uk shows for them and we have a private ring already covering essentially 100% of uk/us tv. The same goes for guys who have access to movies, they offer us their rips, we give them all our tv, then you have tv and films covered and so on. That is the scene but is a stripped back bare bones fashion, the end result though is you click play, the file plays :-)

In this case both, @aguerrrroooooooooooo is making this build with apps specifically designed to give access to unauthorized copies of digital media. In court it would easily be argued the build was specific to house these apps that did this. Legally he would not have a leg to stand on.

Many thanks for reply but does it mean the individual apps will either clean their act up to be legal or will they also be vulnerable if they stay the same ?.
Sorry just trying to understand the process.
