Burnley - Post Match Thread

A few players rested as well.

pressure back onto dippers and chavs

BT came across as arses throughout the game.

Ref shocking but that isnt a surprise.

shaky at the back and that nervousness spread through the team however stones should be back

Pep has a big test against chelsea next week but at least theres a bit of pressure off having won today!

Burnley are a very organised team at home so to get three points without Gundogan, Merlin, Stones or Kevin in the starting 11 is admirable. Why they weren't there is confusing.

Can somebody explain that short corner routine where Sterling gives it to Sagna, who then proceeds to try and cross it with his left foot?

Otherwise job done, and strange how without KDB and Silva, we arguably created more chances.

NBC broadcast..... "Otamendi should been called for a foul on that last corner. I can't believe he got away with that!"

"Burnley! Burnley! Burnley!" (.....)
Yet to hear anyone in the media even mention the incredibly blatant foul on Yaya before our second goal, they seem to collectively just ignore the fact that their big shit house defender ran past the ball and just knee'd Yaya in the stomach instead. Luckily we managed to get a break of the ball and score because the referee had no intention of giving us anything for it

Pep making his displeasure of the ref very very clear post match interview and rightly so!

Phew - big positive is we won also Sergio upped his work rate, and but for a fantastic save would have bagged another hat trick. Thought Fernando had a tidy game without creating a lot. Bravo played well. Finally Fernandinho's effort for the winner was fantastic. Main negative is we cannot rely on Yaya, Kolarov, Navas and Sagna in the bigger games or going to the next level and Otamendi gives too many cheap free kicks. I'm sure Pep must see this. That group are too ponderous and careless in possession.

That Scottish **** in the box just said "Howard Webb told us the penalty should have been given" NO he didn't he said it was offside. The lying little fuck.

that was a struggle and a half...should have gone on to win more easily than that after we went ahead when we were well on top. Can't believe how many times in the last 10-15 minutes we gave them the chance to punt it into our box by conceding cheap possession and poor fouls...
Good performances from Fernando and Fernandinho in midfield and the defence stayed solid during the late onslaught of Burnleys sophisticated attacking style

Really good Three points and we did not play well at all. That's a positive, but at some point we need to start putting some good performances together. No game now for a week so hopefully Silva, kdb, gund and stones will be fresh for Chelsea.

We deserved to win games against Everton and Boro. Not so much against palace and today. Happy to win like this without Silva, gundo, stones and kdb (late sub)

They are now fully rested

I thought it was a stone wall penalty in real time, haven't seen it close up yet though

I'm guessing that, if (if?) we go on to win the PL, it'll be with one of the highest goals against totals since the top division went to 38 games. We just don't seem capable of reeling off clean sheets.

Atleast we are conceding only 1 goal in majority of the games.
