Burnley - Post Match Thread

Well done, especially Aguero. Not a classic but that's the sort of three points that can make the difference, Liverpool & United got 1 point between them against Burnley.

Good win that, up against a very motivated and combative team, who were helped no end by the incompetent twat with the whistle. 67% of possession but double the fouls, I guarantee we are the only team in history with those stats week in week out.

Made to work hard against a hard working but not great dingle team...always hard when Mariner is the ref as he never gives us fuck all and loves to give yellows to us...3 points and that's all that matters

Phew! we give away a ridiculous amount of free kicks though
I think there's been a problem in the game for quite some time where players can't take any contact whatsoever without going over and throwing their legs and arms all over the place. Fuck all officials can really do about it until there's retrospective action taken for play acting - and that will never happen.

Positives..3 points at a tough place. Bravo seems to have learned that he can kick the ball clear and stop messing about at the back. Nerves shattered with the chances Burnley had at the end. We need a top quality central defender who can run through brick walls and head the ball for games like this.
Negatives... players whining at the ref, just dig in and get on with it - Nolito !

Great result.

Performance of champions that at Burnley. Play not your best after a CL game in midweek but get the three points and go top.

Pep got the personnel spot on and now we have a full week before the Chelsea game.

Over the moon.
Hmmm I know what you mean but didn't see much to get excited about footballing wise. But as you say, followed a midweek game and we showed some resolve.

Great win, after CL midweek, with rotated squad, against a very tough team who took points of all our tithe rivals apart from a controversial last minute winner by Arse. Some rest, a tactical week of training and lets chin Chelski :))

I'm guessing that, if (if?) we go on to win the PL, it'll be with one of the highest goals against totals since the top division went to 38 games. We just don't seem capable of reeling off clean sheets.

Very tidy performance from Fernando today. Second half especially he tidied up a lot and kept possession very well.
