Liverpool - post match thread.

You boys deserved the win but dont get carried away, just yet. We've been beaten by better teams then you this year.
I am not getting carried away but we have improved.

I am just reading through this thread and think you need a little context.

Not his fault at all tonight but he doesn't do any more than Joe could do that's for sure.

We know what we need :
2 young fast full backs
1 Animal centre half
1 dynamic goal scoring centre mid
1 DINO junior
1 Joe
1 strong fast centre forward...Negredo junior.
A complete re casting of the squad with young, hungry, ambitious players of good character. Good bye the class of 2012,it's been a pleasure.
PS. PEP,this is the ENGLISH PREMIER LEAGUE,the toughest in the world. Adapt or fail.

Until we get them we will be battling for a top 4-6 spot.

It's what it was last season and the squad is a year older with few taking the next step of those who will still be hear or at least may deserve to be hear in two years.

If Pep can't get the above winning week in week out then its time to question whether he is up to the job but not before.

The current squad is no where near good enough to challenge seriously home and abroad so 6-3-4 from out last 13 league games shouldn't be a surprise to anybody.

I suspect the next City side to win a title be it hear or abroad will have very few of the current squad playing in it.

Chelsea , Liverpool , Manure have all had spells outside the Chumps League in recent times and Arsenal haven't won a title in 12 years.

The league is tough but its not got much brilliance and real world class quality about it currently.

We have regressed by not working well in the transfer market for sometime now and its bound to catch up with eventually despite the fact that the league is not great.

Yes, we had 9 shots, 2 of them on target. How about in yours?
The two on target were a pea-roller by De Bruyne that deflected wide for a corner, and one from 30 yards that went straight into Mingolet's arms. I think your universe is extremely misleading.

We can all say what we think, but the manager picks his best options based on how the players perform in training, and previous games. I bet nobody on here has watched all the training sessions leading up to this game?

The manager tells them how he wants to play, but once they cross that white line, it is up to them to perform. The manager can influence things during the game to an extent with substitutions and switching formation, but in reality it is up to the highly paid professional players on the pitch.

Yaya, was off the pace, Spanish Dave was marked out of the game, and KDB had a bad game by his standards. Sterling tried his arse off today but it didn't happen for him. Hardly surprising with 50,000 vile Scousers booing and jeering every time he went near the ball. How many of us would struggle to do our job if we got booed constantly?

Defence wasn't too bad apart from one or two little mistakes; one which cost up a goal. In reality, that pressure was down to a mistake by Yaya in midfield. Bravo is not a bad keeper. We just need to get behind our players a bit more.

You could argue a draw would have been a fair result, but I think you're being wildly generous to concede that they deserved the win.
If no team won on the balance of play then no team deserved to win.

It's the stats that matter that count that is goals.

All very nice all that but we lost. Didn't look like scoring and Kolorov might well have done ok for the rest of the match but it only takes one mistake and he is behind them time after time.

Possession is nothing without penetration and we had none.

Liverpool tactics allowed us the possession and Klopp managed the game out to perfection.
agreed on the penetration,as I said we only got one thing wrong and that was playing silva and kdb,im all for dropping one of them for away games . they are not fast enough to stretch the oppo, which in turn creates space in the middle, kun problem wasn't he couldn't be arsed as some have said he had no support at all all night

I do agree we need faster,or better full backs.

imo we aren't really that far off, would like to see a couple of fullbacks coming in the transfer window,i don't know how realistic that is.

Be honest we got what we all expected deep down........Another toothless display, back five which is mid table quality at best and no real desire to win the game......predictable........But Pep is a genius so hey hoo!

Liverpool fan here.

Klopp didn't have a first great season but has improved the squad greatly this season.

As you lot said about us you will be a lot better next season under pep.

Don't be blinded by your anger.

Happy new year our Mancunian cousins and all the best.

Cheers , happy new year to too, hope we thrash you at our place mind, and if it comes down to it hope you thrash our "friends " from trafford in the league cup final

You only asked if we had any shots, not how good they were :-) (although Silva's effort was a good one even though it was slightly off-target)

All these posters with the "it will all come good in the end" need to ask themselves this. Why? When was the last time Pep turned round an underperforming team? He has always started with the finished article. It doesn't mean he won't but it is no certainty. What pisses me off is he doesn't know the difference between evolution and Revolution. It is no excuse to say some of the players aren't up to it - if that's the case a good manager would play to the strengths of the team and evolve the style not go straight to it. No surprise that all our defenders had the most passes - says it all. My missus said at one throw in - why is my sons team are always taught to throw up the line and City always throw backwards down the line. We are too obsessed with building from the back when our players aren't up to it. Oh well - always got the FA Cup - well, until Friday when Pep pisses about with a back 2 or some other genius decision that shows how much better than us mere mortals he is

So why effing pick him then!!!It hardly came as a bleedin surprise.

Thank you I can live with those results.

BTW there is a typo on line 6. It should say Klopp but after a few beers mistakes will be made.

I have watched city since 1976 (gulp) seriously I have never seen a worse keeper in all that time, delighted Pep is here and am sure he will make us thinto a fantastic team, however he has to admit Bravo is a mistake.
This is the Liverpool post match thread. What did Bravo contribute to us losing the game today? Did I mistakenly not see him push the ball into his own net for the Liverpool goal? Or did he inadvertently kick/throw the ball to an opposition attacker - who then capitalised immediately by scoring against us?

No? I though not.
