Positive thread alert

Pep is showing clear signs of frustration with English football and he has to bend, or this will continue for a good while yet.

I get the feeling this type of mentality is running right through the football club.

It's my biggest concern at the moment. We seem to have this idea that by sticking to this way of playing, we can turn the PL into La Liga.

We have a hierarchy and coach who are very continental in their approach. Across the board, it's the only club with such a set up.

It's good that we have a blueprint and a management team singing the same song, I just think it's the wrong one.

I can understand Pep getting frustrated with some aspects of the English game such as Liverpool players getting away with kicking the ball away after conceding free kicks. That always usd to be a booking. Also, never seem to end up playing ten men, unlike many other teams.

I think Pep will adapt the style of play a bit, with lessons learnt. I think he has already recognised that we we need a more dominant header of the ball in central defence. I think Pep knows we need a number of new players including new fullbacks. But it serves no purpose making this public.

Understand his frustrations as well. There are parts of the English game that drive me insane.

I just feel that since Bobby and Cook left, the club has took a huge shift in its approach.

The set up is very Spanish. Right down to sending our 2 starlet future full backs on loan to a La Liga team.

I'm hoping Pep can understand and see that he needs to adapt.

Honestly in the long term, I have no clue how it will play or whether it's the right or wrong approach.

But I do know in this moment it is failing, and that we have been gradually fucking up since 2012.

Thanks Proy. I think Pep will also have to recruit more powerful attackers and midfielders or we will continue to get pushed off the ball.

3 points better off than this time last year. And we can beat anyone on our day, that I'm sure of, and with the likes of united, Liverpool and Spurs to come to the etihad in the second half there's still lots to play for.

It will take time, but when Pep gets the positions sorted watch our club reach a new level. I always knew this season would be hit and miss and some need to realise that still

My New Year resolution is to start to become more positive, better beat fucking Burnley mind, and I'm going to try my real hardest in not falling out with certain posters on here when they start waffling their shite,or bringing up stats to back up their chat.

Watch the game lads, with your own eyes, stats are boring, book readers put the book down, see it for yourself as in now,not what it is going to become, otherwise you will all be reading the book Pep-why I failed at City in the future.

Let's hope for all our sakes that things get better for us this year, who knows we all might be at Cardiff in June watching us do the unthinkable 25 years ago,or maybe the FA Cup again, which would be nice as well.

Anyway all the best my fellow Blue Boys,(and girls),I love you all, even the ones who don't like me !!!

You don't put them all in the same team for a start, certainly not against a high press quality team.

We have widemen coming out of our ears, yet no discernable presence in the penalty box as a result.

We need either a target man for Sergio to play off, like the old Negredo combo, or G Jesus must only now play as a second striker, and one of Silva, Sterling or KDB has to sit it out each week.

I agree with the "you don't play them all together" part but I think we should be looking to play with a 433 variant like he did at Barca with a false 9 and wide forwards making the diagonal runs into the box. I also think it's an either or for Kev and Dave in the infestation position of the midfield 3.

Well young @salfordpaul when you first posted this I was of the opinion that there wasn't much to be positive about! But my positive is that the Media have made sure I support Mr Guardiola 100% with their absolutely disgraceful attacks on him after that inept refereeing performance yesterday. So I guess you could say that I have been revitalised as I was getting a bit fed up and wondering if it was worth getting dressed up to look like the Michelin (wo)man to sit freezing (but singing) at the matches.

Come on City, let's show those so and so's just what you as a team and we as fans are made of, let's sort them all out!!

I'll be honest, first 10 games we looked unbeatable. We were pressing high and hunting in packs and Pep showed his style can work in this league. People seem to forget those first 10 games. For some reason he started tinkering too much and we dropped off the boil. I'm not worried one bit, we will come good again. We do need a big man up front though as a different option (pep loved lewandowski)

Just seems we have abandoned the passing out from the keeper to play it long and look for the 2nd ball. Which is fine, but when you are constantly kicking long to aguero, sterling, navas etc the defenders will always be winning those balls in the air and it makes the tactic look stranger than it actually is.

Not sure why people are so worried though, we have shown in plenty of games what the idea is how he wants us to play, just obviously taking a bit longer to implement than he estimated. We haven't been helped with injuries and suspensions and a complete lack of depth in some positions. We have about 10 wingers and nobody ever in the box to cross to!

That's the spirit Sheila! In pep we trust!

First season was never going to be Pep's best at City.

We need a little time even though we have spent huge amounts of money & had Txiki in charge of transfers to help Pep's introduction.

Having two new full backs & a commanding football playing leader alongside Stones will help very much, Bravo included. No names but City need to act quick and bring in established top quality. We have the money and the manager. Be bold City.

Beat Burnley with 10 men for an hour. Some of the most promising/proven attacking players in the world e.g. Aguero, Gabriel Jesus, Sane, Sterling, Iheanacho and De Bruyne. Plaudits being give for our youth, wonder when Brahim will make the jump to first team squad regular, not if. Moreno, Roberts & Unal to name just three out on loan.

Its not perfect, probably never will be, but with a little patience we can become the best in the world or very, very near. It is still very exciting times to be a blue.
