Gabriel Jesus

What do we want?

Well firstly Al Khaldoon ’s quotes concern the player’s undoubted potential and ability, but don’t address the reason behind the delay.
In fact, considering that he doesn’t appear to have been asked a pretty obvious question, I’m not even convinced that the interview was undertaken today.

Secondly, we’ve just paid almost £30m for a player who will be 20 in April,(only a year younger than Neymar when he signed for Barcelona) and it’s by no means certain that City will finish in the Top Four. Our next two games are crucial, and his arrival was supposed to kick start the remainder of the season (or so I've been reading on many other threads)

If that’s not going to happen, then I want the club to communicate the reasons for the delay (even if they had no intention of playing him) rather than leaving us with anecdotal speculation and irrelevant twitter quotes.

Just catching up with this thread and very much looking forward to seeing him playing for us. There again - for us older fans I was even more excited about Rodney Marsh.

Given that experience I am keen he is introduced as the management see fit and not just thrown in.

Must say - all these comments about what you want and what the club need to do for you all sound pretty needy and entitled to me.

Because the club isn't that transparent it causes reactions that in hindsight might look over the top.

It's not because Jesus can't play this weekend because the chances were limited anyways, but it would praise the club to let the press know what is the matter instead
Why the fuck should our club pander to the fucking press?

This is the latest news we have.

  • The FA is still verifying documents related to the Gabriel Jesus transfer - but City insist a third-party ownership dispute is not an issue
  • Dispute has been rumbling on for months in Brazil. A former agent claims he owns 22.5% of GJ's rights. Palmeiras are taking him to court
  • There's no court date as yet, which suggests there's no resolution in sight. City, though, are pointing to an earlier court case in Brazil
  • Earlier court case ruled that Jesus was free to join a new club regardless of the dispute between Palmeiras and former agent.
  • Fabio Caran, the former agent, part owned the club Jesus first played for, and helped take him to Palmeiras. Stopped being his agent in 2014
  • Caran insists he still owns 22.5% of Jesus' rights. Palmeiras aren't recognising his claim. Messy situation but City say it has no bearing.
  • In short, City don't believe dispute between Palmeiras and former agent has any bearing on Jesus' registration.
  • Overall, City are confident the FA are happy with the papers they have seen so far. Hoping Jesus will be registered in time for Spurs.

So please enlighten us as to how you'd resolve this issue?
I think that the needy ones would go on a fans forum and moan and moan until it was resolved and then probably take credit for the resolution

Why the fuck should our club pander to the fucking press?

That's up to the club isn't it. I'm merely trying to say if the club chooses not to be transparent to their fans on certain items that come out in the press, people will vent their opinion that in hindsight is beside the truth.

I for one feels the press have an agenda. Either against the ones trying to beak up the establishment of to protect that establishment. But I often feel the club should come out more and/or faster when she's able to do so.

Some remarkably childish, ignorant, and tedious insults aimed at those bewildered blues who care about the club, but can’t understand how a professional organisation can spend £30m, without asking

“Oh, by the way. Do you actually own this player?”

Funny because these are the same people who ridiculed Alan Shearer last week when he suggested that City would need to sign a striker if they wanted to win the Premier League.

Perhaps Shearer knew something we didn't?

Let’s just hope that Aguero scores a few goals, and doesn’t suffer injury or suspension before it’s all sorted.
We all care about the club Ffs. What is childish and pathetic are so called fans who have already decided themselves that the club is to blame without even knowing the facts and then shooting off. Hope you and your cohorts never get called up for jury service. Distinct levels of immaturity being shown on here at times.

So our admin fck up and land us in hot water with FA over keeping track of players, and we have 5 months to sign a player and it is still delayed by ' paper work issues' and yet some blues still sniff the clubs reeking bums like they are angels... wake up and smell the coffee. We have amateurs running our back room. It may only be paper work but 'paper work' issues can prevent it happening at all. Brewery, up, piss and organise spring to mind. Those that try to excuse the club need to take off the blue tints. Their is a pattern developing here and it aint a good one.
I think those you believe are siding with the club are stating that we don't know who are to blame so no point speculating. It's taking a more mature stance

Distraction I know but that last point brought up the image of the Not the nine o'clock news sketch - "he's a villain sir"

Not sure why anyone is blaming the club here. The issue is between Palmeiries and the FA - as Pep quite clearly states in his press conference.

Now chill. We have a fantastic team and squad, and we have crucial games coming up. Let's focus on getting behind the current team at this time, and let the future sort itself.

no it's not, we've had 10 days then and for whatever reason not managed to do it. That's shite
So you're ignoring the fact Pep says the hold up is between the FA and Palmeras?

There's little else City can do than hand in the paper work for approval is there?

Some whiny tits on this thread.

I deal with overseas legal issues and contracts with my business.
And does that include Brazil, and has a contract ever been delayed as days slip by while legal people do their stuff. I have spent days in hotel rooms waiting for contracts or import problems. Including 2 full weeks in Copacabana, while my company waited and could do nothing. Mind you I wasn't pushing much. If the FA won't sign off until they have done their checks, that's just how it is. Relax.

Khaldoon via the MUEN.

City had been working on Jesus for a year.

We beat United to Jesus.

But of course, United and their PR machine, and media outlets, will refute that.

Correct with with all 3 posts, a hat-trick in fact :)

You also have to allow for the fact that the posters slating the club for this (generally speaking) either have their own agenda to keep going in respect of certain members of staff (in case they get called out for back tracking) or they're simply very suspect posters in terms of who they support.

If this could be resolved quickly and without issue, then why hasn't it been? And if is more difficult, who's to say he won't miss Spurs as well? Or even more? The fact is we just don't know.

Whilst not understanding the detail of what's going on here, if I'd paid £30m to someone for an asset which - for whatever reason - I could not use, I'd be mighty pissed off about it.

Have we actually handed the money over to Palmeras? I am assuming we have, and if that's the case and it is them who are dicking around, I'd be asking for a few hundred grand back.

EDIT: Off topic perhaps, but I just went onto mancity.com to check who we play after spurs and got the usual crap:

What a complete joke our website has become.

but apart from all that youre happy right

After the admin issue and Bacary I wouldn't be surprised if the FA, I.E Gill are trying to find a legal way to block or fine us again because we have snaffled a player the rags wanted.

Exactly, so why some are getting bent round the axle is baffling

Many thanks for that post, which explains in simple English the problems the club is having with his registration. I would like to think most posters on BM, that are "genuine City supporters", are sympathetic to the club's position when the facts are clearly explained like this. :-)

Not at all but whilst they could be doing, city should be busting whoevers balls to get this over the line.

Few people have said why should city pander to the media etc. Maybe so fans know what's going on, every know it all on here says oh it's nothing, just finer details etc, doesn't take 10 days for that. Everyone is guessing on here because of what we have been told which is very little. People have the right to question the hold up as nobody in this thread knows 100% what's going on.

Was just doing some reading on Neymars transfer to Barca, from a Brazilian club to a European one which was a lot more complicated too. Didn't take anywhere near this amount of time
