I agree but as I said we seem to have absolutely no problem trading or allowing investment with China or Saudi Arabia initiated in the pre Brexit era, surely the USA is not yet even approaching the style of Government these countries utilise.

My point is we no longer can afford to be too choosy about which countries we decide are worthy of our decision to allow them to trade with us, those days are gone.

Great for international agreements that, a roving arse kicker is what we need, bollox to trade,
jobs and all that shit. We have to use pragmatism because that's the way of the world, it's the reason
we trade with Saudi Arabia, where women are subjugated, hands, feet and heads are chopped off, and
religious freedom is outlawed. Shit happens worldwide.
 
When he said he'd unite the country I don't think he meant unite them in hatred against him but that's what he's done. Not going well for old tango face.

Straw man argument mate (reference SWP for definition).
We're talking Trump and USA , not Saudi Arabia.
See my reply to GDM about the Don only respecting strong opponents I.e. In this case you can combine principles with pragmatism.

I didn't claim they were representative of the whole of US society I specifically gave their occupation and nationality to allow the reader to draw their own conclusion. The point was made to highlight the bias both here on bluemoon and in European media which if taken in isolation paint a very one sided view.

You would get the same results asking Russians about Putin. They love him. The European media paints him as an egotistical madman.

Condescension ill befits you Len.
What makes you think that she hasn't applied principle with pragmatism? I have no idea of the in depth
details of her talks with him, but I'm relatively certain that it didn't start with a lecture on what a naughty boy he is.
How would you approach it?

I'm undecided tbh, are you trying to tell us that pilots are twats? Or that North Americans are twats? It's a bit vague but I'm leaning towards the former.
 
At a time when the UK needs trading partners and change has taken place at the highest level surely any sensible person would concentrate on ensuring that objective is achieved rather than apparently raising concerns about areas of disagreement.

In Trumps ´business deal´ eyes this will give him reason to select another partner. He is already rocking the boat in his own country so being lectured on his methods at this time is likely to be counter productive. He is not yet understanding diplomacy and is simply intent on implementing what he wants, those who disagree are currently not being listened to.

However, if our PM feels that her views on his style of Government are more important than easing the trade barriers for us to pick up any slack from Brexit problems then so be it.
In a way she has been lucky to get in first with opportunity but she has also got him at a time when he is at his most proactive in implementing internal change.
A very dangerous time to disagree with any change master whether in industry or government.
 
It turns out Homeland Security had major issues with the immigrant ban especially to those who have visas and Greencards for many years.

Apparently they were over ruled by Steve Bannon. Who was the editor of Breitbart and avowed white nationalist.

Crazy that he's being given so much power and influence.
