I would contend that papers like the Mail and the Express have an entrenched Little Englander agenda, and whilst the main driving forces of the endless articles on Sterling are part economic (clickbait for pea brained rags and dippers) and part personal, the fact that Sterling is black and not born in the UK is undoubtedly an added bonus for them, a chance to reinforce a stereotype in the minds of their readers as we saw when The Sun airlifted that photo of him into an unassociated story about a drug dealer

A few of years ago, Ric, a really close friend of mine (I am godfather to his daughter) introduced me to an old school friend of his - twas in a pub in Alty. It transpires that said school friend is the editor of the Daily Star and it also turns out that the very same school friend is a "die hard" rag.

I admit to not knowing if the same rag is still employed by the Star, but if he is it would explain a lot. I also apologise for not being able to remember his name, but I do remember thinking "what an arrogant prick".
 
Slightly off topic but think the media decided to do the same sort of hatchet job on payet leaving west ham as they did on sterling .west ham hung him out too dry like Liverpool did and the media bought into it

And you know this because ?You said Sterling was being targeted because of his colour and you asked me where white players had suffered like this,his colour nothing else ... your comments not mine.
Mario was his own worst enemy and shit followed him around because he didn`t have a brain cell that could have told him to behave,so don`t use the reason he is black that he got all this shit at City.He`s still getting it now in France.The media have not let up on Sterling for more than 18 months now,due to a poor Europe but mainly because he left those whinging candlestick makers .. so you assume its due to his colour.Unfuckingbeleiveable Jeff !!

Cheer Don. Raheem has made them look like the petty ****s they are. Fair play to him, I wouldn't be able to laugh at them in the face of such obvious provocation.
 
I can see it now in today's papers; "Sterling continues his being a twat streak as he mocks the mentally impaired writers of prestigious newspaper"
