West Ham - Post match thread

Good performance, shocking opposition
Easy to criticise West Ham. If they stormed forward they knew we'd destroy 'em on the break in the space behind. If they sat back they'd be praying we couldn't finish. In the end they did neither. Give us some credit for that.

Just seen the highlights. Nice to see Sterling has learned from the last penalty we weren't given. Might want to make it a bit more seamless next time though.

pat nevin on BBC:
I think if Manchester City play the team they did tonight away from home against other teams they will be found out.

They are far too open. Yaya Toure, as the holding midfielder, won't get around enough against decent teams.

West Ham are the perfect team for Manchester City. They played 4-4-2 and were destroyed in midfield.

Tactically it was a mess.

we really cant win hahaha

Another thing I liked about tonight was that we were a tad more cynical than we've been previously!
On the rare occasion they looked like they could break on us, I saw on seperate occasions Jesus, Sane, Sterling Debruyne and silva bring them down on or near the half way line! For 18 months we've conceded far too many goals form teams breaking on us without any form of challenge!

H
Commentator determined to mention negatives. Made himself sound stupid. We're an embryonic team.
oddle is a wanker, he hates praising City looking for any negative, McManaman was very good tonight & even Wright had to say City were good.

I wouldn't change a thing on Sunday, let others watch & wait inc Aguero.

Your looking at the next 6-8 years from 3, f in awesome..

Great performance tonight, especially from the front 3 and yaya running the midfield and dictating play.

It will be interesting to see how we perform against Swansea and a packed defence on Sunday. Hope we see the same movement and running off the ball in the forward positions. Also big willy c has got to keep his place now. He looks much more confident than Bravo who needs a break for the moment.

It's going to be exciting watching us play over the next few seasons with kdb, sane, Jesus, Sterling, Silva and Kun - maybe only Barca and Real Madrid have a better attacking players?

has to be a WUM ? no blue would post/think that about Mancini

There are plenty of blue who were glad to see him go, and others who despite liking him, thought it was the right decision. However, the myth about him being in the stands for that game, just waiting to take Hughes job have been proved nonsense. The journo who originally broke the story even apologized on tv. For a City fan not to know this, or ignore it, is just wrong.

a lot more disciplined I thought, the constant press at the front because of our pace helped, but Ota won the ball back a couple of times just by staying on his feet and not diving in. Maybe Vinnie back has refocused minds and his active presence throughout training has helped bring the level of the others back up.
Yes, it must be that and not the fact that Ota does this most of the time and often slides only as the last resort in a Helter skelter situation. Of which there weren't any today.
